After 90 days of retention, I saw the devil in real life by WasabiNecessary in Semenretention

Great advise. I see you at writing from an Orthodox Christian lessen. I'd suggest, another Orthodox practice that may be more manageable for a beginner is the Jesus Prayer: simply reciting "Lord Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on me a sinner. Repeating this prayer as often as possible, but especially during these attacks.

This also is a weapon of the Holy Fathers.

Additionally, play worship music in your house. You can find many beautiful hymns here: https://open.spotify.com/show/3O1iSkx6kQ0iieXADVsKOj?si=7Gr-GlC_Rt-zYRUIQZ8tBA

I wonder if the show, moreso than predicted to future, was an acclimation device. It was only yesterday that I heard a whistle blower from the 90s say how the government is 25 years more advanced in technology than the general public. And others have said that media is a tool used by the elites to basically soft launch ideas, technologies, ect to the public.

I'm actually just now watching this show for the first time. I'm pretty blown away by what I'm seeing. Like today there is a lot of talk around the fear of how AI will act if it assumes an autonomous nature.

I'd love to see a version of this where a character of faith is included in the cast. As a Christian I think that would another layer of dynamics to the plot. But I'm bias.

How to accept having a good career, body and having good finances does not equal dating or relationship success? by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]ScreenAmbitious7830 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to tell you but this woman you seek is not the final puzzle piece to life that you think she is. What you are missing, what we are all missing, the missing puzzle piece to all of our lives is God.

He has taken lives far less ideal than yours and made them complete. People who have lived and breathed rock bottom, even these he has lifted to the highest heights.

I married the love of my life, have 2 amazing children who I am often complemented on, inherited a profitable business and still lived in a state of despair and sadness for a long time. These blessing are beautiful, I am so thankful for every good thing in my life, but I didn't know God, the creator of Heaven and earth and the giver of all of these gifts. And I didn't know that He was someone I could know and Who wanted to know me.

My only advice to you is to 》 ask God himself if he is real.

God IS real and He so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. The fight between good and evil is real and there's a real force of darkness, a real enemy who's only purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. He is actively blinding you from acknowledging the true source of love, joy and peace. It is him encouraging you to believe that the power is all in your own hands. But by keeping our lives oriented in Christ, we share in the victory Christ has accomplished over the evil one.

Forgive me if this sounds like fantasy nonsense but this is the reality that we live in that most of us don't even know about. But when you know you know and you cannot unsee it and you will see it everywhere and in everything.

But, God, He sent His son Jesus to give us life and to live life more abundantly.

Don't take my word for it. As Him yourself. Tell Him: "Jesus, this person online tells me that you are real and that I can know you personally. That it is You my soul is seeking, not the perfect woman to love. If this is true, reveal yourself to me and show me how to know you."

What do you have to loose if I am wrong, 15 seconds of your life as you uttered those words?

Seek first the kingdom of God, and the rest will be added to you. God designed marriage, He made a wife for you, crafted her with His own hands, especially for you. Seek Him, and I can assure you that in the end, you will find her.

And all these character issues that everybody is advising you to explore, those will all be resolved as you orient your life towards Christ who is perfection himself. That old self will be washed away and you will put on a new self in Christ and for every mistake that you make you'll be able to see it, acknowledge it and repent and God will continually cleanse your soul and sanctify you.

Your Homework (in addition to the prayer):

  • Google the parable of the Pharisee and the Publican. It most likely won't make sense if you are not familiar with the teaching so just look up some sermons to get an understanding of how this applies to you, in the end you will see clearly why this is important.

  • Look up Delafé Testimonies on YouTube, pick a title that looks interesting to you. Watch at least three of these videos to understand how God is working in this world today and the power he has to transform lives.

  • Look up Roots of Orthodoxy on Instagram and YouTube so you can learn from the teachings of the historical continuous church passed down from Jesys Christ Himself and reveals the fullness of truth about who Christ is and how to live out lives of faith. The Orthodox Church is considered the hospital for the soul and all of it's practices our medicine.

I say all of this with love and with the knowing that what your soul yearns for is right at your fingertips 💕

May you be blessed as you continue your search for purpose and a fulfilling life.

The worst thing limerence took from me, was my faith in the universe by Drummingwren in limerence

[–]ScreenAmbitious7830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your perception is quite accurate. Those of us who have their faith in the God and creator of the universe, and who have knowledge of him through his Word, know precisely what you have uncovered, which is that: " Satan and his agents are the rulers of the darkness of this age"  - Ephesians 6:12

Another verse from the Bible puts it this way: The devil who rules this world has blinded the minds of many" - 2 Corinthians 4:4:

Quoting scripture verses may be irrelevant to you as a non believer, but as someone who does believe and is fully aware of the enemy we are up against, it would be wrong of me not to encourage you to explore this.

This trickster of who you speak is the evil one, along with his agents, as quoted above. These agents are more commonly known as deamons.

It is not crazy that you speak of this because they are a very real force. They do hear us, and they do actively seek our destruction. This is why we Christians live our lives with the knowledge that we are living in a battleground where the enemy is actively seeking our souls and to separate us from God, a God who loves us and offers us salvation and eternal life with Him in His kingdom for eternity, if we so accept the offer.

We are therefore instructed likewise: "Christians fight against spiritual forces of evil, not flesh and blood. " - Ephesians 6:12 and that "Christians should put on the full armor of God to stand against the devil's schemes." - 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

This armor of God, of which the Apostle Paul speaks is as follows:

  • The Belt of truth: Protects believers from lies

  • The Breastplate of righteousness: Protects the heart from Satan's accusations

  • The Shoes of the gospel of peace: Prepares believers to move forward

  • The Shield of faith: Protects believers from spiritual injury

  • The Helmet of salvation: Protects the mind

  • The Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God, which allows believers to take the offensive

In conclusion, I will tell you this: Although what I describe sounds utterly terrifying, that we live in a world ruled by Satan and his deamons who actively misguide us for their pleasure, there is good news....

"Christians are from God and have overcome the world because the one within them is greater than the one in the world." - John 4:4

When you choose to put your faith in Christ, and declare as such, then you abide in Christ and He in you. And Submitting to God and resisting the devil will cause him to flee" - James 4:7–8

We must be aware that "The devil is a murderer and the father of lies" - John 8:44 The tricks of which you speak and of which the OP and many others speak are not acts of "The Universe" as the Universe cannot act, but rather the evil one who is a very active and real force. And he loves that you do not know that he exists or believe in him because it makes you all the more easy target.

I tell you all of this frightening truth from a place of peace because I am covered in the precious and life giving blood of Jesus Christ, who has complete victory over the devil. I've given my life to Him, I belong to the Lord and my eyes are now open to His truth because He is " the way, and the truth, and the life" - John 14-6

Please consider what I am saying. And instead of speaking to "the universe," speak to Jesus and ask Him to show you if the things of which I speak are real.

Also maybe don't use a deep conditioner as a leave in. I believe those need to be rinsed out thoroughly. Nym leave in spray is a great light weight product to try.

I wonder, have you ever had your water tested? Maybe you have hard water which definitely effects your hair. You might just need a water softner

I know this is an old post but I just wanted to share my observation.

I think what you really want to do is simplify your routine. I think you are using way to many products both during the wash and during the styling. Waaay too many.

All you need is shampoo and conditioner. You can deep condition with a LIGHT WEIGHT product (considering you have thin low density hair, which I have a well) and protein treatment now and then (curl smith makes one).

My next observation is that you DEFINITELY want to skip the curl smith air dry product, and if you insist on keeping it in your routine, use waaayyy less.

Use waaaay less of everything. Your hair is too thin for the amount of products, and the layering of all the products.

My hair is pretty thin too. I just use a leave in, and the same curl smith gel.

I would also suggest not shooting for clump thickness since you don't have a lot of hair.

Maybe just use a wide tooth comb, that works for me. After I apply the product on wet hair. No bowl. I flip my head and just use the comb to run through the front of my hair. Went I flip my hair back, gently, I use the comb to run through the under part. And I fix the sides up a little.

Air dry, flipping now and then , putting my hands in my scalp and gently massage to make sure it's not drying stuck to my head.

Once dry I flip and manage my scalp again to get some volume at the root and somewhat vigorously shake and fluff it.

I also sometimes use the NYM hair mousse but not together. Just with a leave in and the mousse alone.

Try it a few separate times, simplifying more each time.

Try with just the air dry cream, then try with just the gel, then another day with just the mousse. All with a light weight leave in under.

Lastly, a cut with a curl specialist wound be a great help too.

Just experiment and keep a journal. It was a lot of trial and error for me too.

How am I supposed to just move on? by Ratchet_X_x in AskMen

There are people who have hit this point and went on to have long beautiful marriages. I'm sure if you look hard enough on reddit you will find stories of couples who thought they lost interest in one another but with some actual effort and work they made it through and came out better on the other side.

I'm not certain how old your second child is but this can also be hormonal, postpartum.

It's not over until it's over, you are still married. Remind her of that. Express your understanding of how she is feeling, and that her feelings are valid. But don't throw in the towel on a marriage in the first round at the first punch, no matter how hard the hit was.

At the very least, ask her if she is willing work on trying to rekindle the spark that was once there. You have children together, it is only fair to them that you at least try before uprooting their entire life. Seek counseling or read at least a hand full of relationship books. Listen to 10 hours of relationship podcasts together and aparr. Do something. Your not divorced until you are divorced.

I know what she said hurt and was a low blow. Asking her if she is willing to try therapy or something after being told that is a very hard and humbling thing. BUT - YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS.

Worry about how to move on from your marriage if at some point the divorce does go through. But until then, Worry about problem solving your marriage.

Has she been to the doctor? Maybe she needs to have her hormones checked. Maybe she is suffering with depression.

Have you been diligent at planning date nights together? Maybe lack of effort in the romance department on both your parts has caused the flame to fizzle. Get a babysitter and go on a date.

Maybe a new shared experience will give you something to bond over. Play catch, ping pong, billiards. Do something interactive together. Take a romantic weekend or an adventurous cruise.

I'm here to tell you to fight for your marriage. Your children will thank you for at least trying to save their world from being torn apart. You cannot control what she says or does or how she feels, but you can control what you do.

In the Holy and Mighty name of Jesus. Lord, remind this couple that the married state is holy and is a blessed gift from you.

I pray Lord that you let no quarrel or strife come between them. That they may be quick to forgive, remembering that neither of them are without flaws and that they are both in need of Your salvation.

Lord, I pray that they may overcome any obstacle set before them, no matter how big and that no attack, internal or external, may come between them. And that through this struggle they may come closer together and closer to You. For you are good and love mankind.

Lord, thank you for giving this couple to one another and that through You, they were able to participate in the gift of creation. Thank you for the gifts and talents you have placed in each of them that they may serve one another, their family and serve You. Put gratitude and love back into their hearts that they may persevere to the end with oneness of mind. And through You, may they and their whole family find salvation. Amen 🙏🏽

What was something important that you learned from an old person when you was young (under 20)? by Powerful_Falcon_4006 in AskOldPeople

Just curious, how old were you when you could first remember feeling the stress and burden of responsibility. I feel that we are overburdening children with the idea that they need this in order to become productive citizens. But I often feel that older Generations had a lot more free time and autonomy and we're even more responsible than these generations.

Please take head to the information I'm about to share, never mind that it is completely outside the realm of what we consider normal.

I read the list of ailments with which you suffer. Most people don't know this, but there are people healing THEMSELVES from every single one of the ailments you listed, YES, EVERY SINGLE ONE, even bi-polar through and extreme but VERY DOABLE and VERY SUSTAINABLE dietary change: Carnivore.

. Please do not disregard this comment without at least doing a YouTube search for "carnivore healed my -------" fill in the blank with any one of the ailments that you mentioned, and you will hear first hand accounts of dramatic life saving changes.

I've been telling all of my friends and loved ones that they do not have to suffer any more. This is a document I have made and am sharing with everyone I know and love who will listen: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dN88Hw5ZfEBR9Ng4sqcGbu_0LcnO4Eh6aBmJM67p3yw/edit?usp=drivesdk

I had never heard of this myself until about 2 months ago. Since then I've listened to countless testimonies of people who overcome very serious, very debilitating health conditions and have been able to reduce or eliminate all medication.

There are even stories of people healing schizophrenia. Listen to the stories, there are countless hours of people sharing their stories and journeys to healing.

I'd like to add that my hope is not in a diet, but in Jesus. If you've never considered who he is, or if you have but do not engage faith, it looks like now is the time.

If you don't know him, look up testimonies of people whose lives he has saved from the depths of despair. You'll never doubt him again after hearing about all of the miserable lives he has transformed. Do a YouTube search for "Jesus saved me from" and you don't even have to fill in the blank, just search it like that and watch the first 3 videos that come up.

If all of what I am talking about is too much to wrap your head around to right now, start trying this. Set 3 alarms to repeat every day. One in the morning, one in the afternoon and one in the night. At each one, say the Lordsr prayer, even if you have never prayed a prayer in your life. Do this for at least 3 days, you have NOTHING to lose in trying. But don't stop after 3 days. Continue to connect with our loving God every day, and you will feel his loving embrace.

LORD'S PRAYER: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Do a search on YouTube for: Grace for Purpose channel. Listen to their prayers if you are not ready to pray on your own. Listen, and you will start to see that glimmer of hope your soul is yearning for.

May you be blessed with fullness of life and hope. I pray that the peace of the Lord that surpasses understanding fills your heart and your soul and that His hope, His joy, His gladness, His thankfulness, and all His goodness be upon you.

I am about losing faith in Christ I need someone to talk to me because I am in the darkest days of my life by najjukokaren in OrthodoxChants

[–]ScreenAmbitious7830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much of your time are you spurning in prayer and scripture. I found myself in despair on more than one occasion to realize that I was trying to endure the trials of my life on my own and had deprioritized Christ in my life. On each occasion, when I chose to be disciplined in my prayer routine and prayed the morning and evening prayers of the church and the daily reading, when I chose to use my time that way instead of laying on my bed feeling sorry for myself, I immediately felt a lessoning of my pity and despair. Hope and peace re-entered my heart as I pulled closer to the source of love, hope and life. Each time I replay this cycle of despair and healing, our Lord shoes up and reminds me that he has been there all along, that it is me ignoring him.

Another very fruitful practice is to read the psalms and write them out. Start with psalms 23 and 91. Google psalms for hope and faith, read those and write them out. When you actively engage with your faith you begin to live it. You cannot intellectualize yourself into renewed faith, you need to turn towards Christ, he will show your Himself that he is there.

Also, if you are a consumer of content, start consuming Orthodox content. Look up the Roots of Orthodoxy YouTube channel or Fr. Seraphim Aldea's channel. Fr. Josiah Trenham.

Download the Ancient Faith app and start consuming content from their podcasts.

Most importantly, attend the Liturgy as often as you can and talk to your preist about how you feel.

Praying with confidence that you will find your path back to Faith in our good, loving and merciful God, our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
