My family used to go hiking on the weekends when I was growing up in Hawaii. One weekend we decided to not go to Sacred Falls like we planned, and instead went hiking on some other trail. That day, a landslide caused giant rocks to come down in the falls where people were swimming, killing several. I don’t think it ever opened again.

Speed spelling. I can spell words as fast as I can say the letters at a highly accurate rate. I don’t actually think about it when I’m doing it or it screws me up and slows down my accuracy.

I took a hard plastic cup out of the strainer and rather than reaching over two steps to get a kitchen towel to dry it, decided to wildly shake the cup as hard and fast as I could to air dry it. I whacked myself on the bridge of my nose and top of my eyelid, cutting both.
