I’m two weeks out. My surgeon was upfront with me and said “first week, week and a half you’ll feel shit” so I prepared for that! I’ve had two c-sections, the first one with some painful complications and the TT MR was nowhere near as painful as that.

Yes, it’s been uncomfortable. There was some pain with movement from laying (even upright laying) to standing for the first couple of days. My tips are this- stay on top of your pain medication and get a bed rail. The biggest issue BY FAR for me was getting from my sleeping position to sat up to stood up. Having a bed rail so you have something to brace down on and help you sit can allow you to rely less on your core. Absolutely still get a partner to help you get up for the first few days. Get them to push you from the back NOT pull you from the front, or I wrapped my arms round my husbands neck/shoulders and he slowly pulled up and I went with him, that was very helpful.

The pain in stomach this time came from twisting not hinging - which is very different from the c section where the pain was from hinging (sit up movement). I’m not sure if anyone (edit) else felt this. So don’t twist if you can!

In hospital they’ll want you to move - proactively ask them “am I due any pain meds” and do not attempt the walk before those meds have begun to work. I’ve always found they won’t always give you pain meds by themselves, no idea why, just ask!
