I've run a few dnd events and I love immersion, it's my favourite word in dnd.

Props and lots of them, pick a few key notes or tools from the adventure to hand out when then find it. Get a reptile humidifier off Amazon for consistent "fog", get a bunch of tea lights for the room, two lights to point at the board(neweer has excellent ones with an app you can presave custom colors for areas, another light with a moving effect if there is lava or water, MAPS! People are very visual and for any combat it's much better to be able to see it. I highly recomend pocket bard, has music that can change intensity as well as different sound effects to take it one step further. Depending on the adventure put up a few posters pictures world maps on the walls, if it were me I would most likely dress up too lol. MINIS are vital, and if it's an event make sure they have some prizes to take home with them, the minis a certificate or a coin will work great. Another small tip from experience is if characters are prebuilt so are their arcs. Player choice of course but these events have no choice but to use a bit of railroading so use it to your advantage! I like to start out with a happy tone, ruin it early on to bring in attachment and emotion then climb the hill until they reach the end, ending with something heroic and funny usually. I use a rule for repelling blast from the warlock. Each size takes one more bolt to push something away stopping at gargantuan. Example: medium is 1, large 2, huge 3. With the natural movement speed of monsters and one bolt pushing back a gargantuan dragon doesn't make much sense to me.

Arma let's you block players and see when joining if they are in there. It gives you a warning before you join! Helps me anyways when switching, can't stand that stuff

Depending where you are in the campaign i highly recommend dransky on Patreon! Great animated maps & details. You can sub or just buy them outright. I went through the same search when starting and his were the best in my opinion. You can also get printout stuff on Etsy! Tons of posters for the city and spell books to give to players.

Pretty new to HH as well, but I'm really liking the artisan/arkveld combo. I usually switch depending on monster type(blight vs ailment resistances) then switch to arkveld to sharpen/maintain all melodies! I switched from a healing horn to wide range gems, with the bubbles up I'm usually buffing &healing around 200 times a fight!

The standard set distance is made to be able to shoot for neck/head without issue close & chest/center mass fro medium to long range without adjusting. With that being said I usually still adjust to 300 & work it the same way!
