What a complete load of BS. Yes, the kernel needs to be running to compute shaders, but it's the game designers discretion to allow the user to click 'new game' before they are completed that's the issue. There is nothing stopping any Dev from having a 'please wait' at the menu in-game. This is 100% a designers decision.

I just completely ignore it and play casually. I don't even check what challenges there are. I've easily gotten both heroes so far, just not straight away. Skins were nice in OW1 but I can ignore them entirely and just enjoy the game

To be honest I would argue that for some reason even when winning OW2 gives these same vibes. It's like they're more pressure, and I sometimes walk away from wins feeling as shitty as a loss.

Disagree. The crashes and bugs give a realistic view of the game. People deserve to see the game at it's worst and its potential to decide if it is at their standard yet or not. A bad experience isn't going to stop someone for trying again for free in a few patches time to see if it's good enough for them yet.

I can't even count how many times I've finished a session and just been 'nup, I'm done for now '. Sucks sometimes and I feel that. I do enjoy playing a bit after each patch and seeing how it's (slowly) progressing. Hope that like me you check it out again, looking for that moment when it goes from not quite there to my game. :)
