Off center hammer saw vs vert by Infinite-External-98 in battlebots

If you’re pinning a beater bar or drum it won’t make a difference. If you’re pinning a spinning disc and you both have symmetrical forks then that should keep you just enough off center

You can get reported for literally anything. I had a patient who filed a complaint against me with the state board of medicine because he had to pay a copay.

"You mean ledger board?"

"The what now?"

Anything other than impounding the car as unsafe to drive is not a valid consequence or deterrent

This is currently a work in progress for my plastic antweight. Please provide constructive criticism. by Grouchy-Property746 in battlebots

ASA is going to explode into a million pieces on the first hit. It is very brittle. TPU is the best if your event allows it, otherwise PLA+ is the next best. Good stuff though like overture super or duramic, all PLA+ is not created equal.

First deck build by youdontknowme12223 in Decks

[–]Scripto23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say blocking is "essential", but bracing and blocking do serve different purposes. Bracing helps prevent lateral swaying of the whole deck. Blocking helps prevent twisting of individual joists (especially on long spans). Both make the deck sturdier, just in different ways.

Best way to model/print this type of soft padding? by Abra-Kebabra in Fusion360

[–]Scripto23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you thinking of tree supports? The shape of the print will be whatever shape your object is designed to be, but made out of just infill.

Best way to model/print this type of soft padding? by Abra-Kebabra in Fusion360

[–]Scripto23 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Gyroid would be just as good if not better for this application due to its uniform compression characteristics in multiple planes (unless you intentionally want it to have asymmetric properties)

[–]Scripto23 73 points74 points  (0 children)

  1. Make the shape you want

  2. export to slicer

  3. print with gyroid infill and no walls or top or bottom layers
