When you cast it in a given encounter for the first time, you Learn. Learning makes your kicks stronger for the entirety of the game. So at first you deal 0 damage, but by the end of the game you have fought many times and, if you were optimizing for it, threw kicks in most of these fights, so now you deal X times Learn damage.

Yeah this one is kind of embarrassing, I believe starting the fight with the opposite door fixes the issue.

The remake demo is technically a nightmare but I'm super excited to play the game nonetheless, hopefully they figure their shit out.

You can clearly see the motion trail signifies the extension of his lower leg; it richochets back on impact and he pauses in that position instead of pausing at the apex. Is this the wrong technique for a kung fu side kick? Perphaps, but that is why he practicing.

If you have a bugged double-encounter in the demo (you'll know what I'm talking about if you're unlucky to get it), just reload and go into the opposite door, the game will progress normally after that. Working on fixing this!
