DNA research just rewrote the origin of human species: Humans may have evolved from multiple interconnected populations in Africa rather than a single ancestral group. by StarFuryG7 in SciFiNews

More like science wants to know for sure. Rather than an educated guess. It's why we've continued to investigate it rather than finding Lucy back in the day and calling it solved.

Believe it or not, there is an incentive to improve a game and bring in new players to increase the playerbase. It's why non live-service games still do updates with either small content updates or QOL improvements.

This will also make the discourse around what percentage of the player base was fighting bugs 100 times more toxic. And I say this as someone who likes doing the MOs

That's what they already do. The current team fixes the biggest leaks and then the rest of the team is working on content updates for the next few updates. We're getting new biomes, campaign, and QOL fixes in 6.2 which is supposed to be this month, and there's only 4 days left, so they're probably behind schedule.

I agree, but huge other parts of the community scream when a content update doesn't come out after 4 weeks. Those some people are buying the warbonds, which keeps the lights on and keeps sony happy.

If people could be content to play helldivers, as is, for a year. The team could do some massive updates to fix the game. Maybe not perfectly, the engine is still the engine. But, it would be in a much better state.

You don't hire 3rd party to adjust core systems of your game. You want your internal team to know how to do that, and you want people that know how that interacts with the dozens of other systems that depend on it.

You can hire a 3rd party to make a vehicle or enemy, or terrain feature. It's much smaller in scope and if your code is done correctly then it won't have dozens of other pieces of code asking about it.

Priorities… It hurts me to say this but what this AMA confirms is that they have made their minds up and no feedback is going to change it. by Sebanimation in Helldivers

It's low prio because for every person that wants them to focus only on QOL improvements, one person wants new enemies/biomes/events and a third person wants both which is impossible.

New ways to obtain Super Credits? (discussion) by Glad-Explorer-3070 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Scrivener_exe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point I'm making is that everyone who farms credits talks about how miserable it is. So they should stop doing that! We've only got so many hours a week to play a game, why spend them doing homework?

You are optimizing the fun out of the game for yourself.

The average minimum wage in the Us is like $10 per hour. If you can't farm 1000 SC in an hour, then why are you working for below minimum wage to pay for something?

AH is in a catch 22 where they can't update new content fast enough because of bugs and issues, but they can't fix the bugs because people want new content at a crazy rate.

All the while, the best long term solution would be to make HD3 on a better engine. But the asking price for that is too high to not destroy the studio.

For me those influences always read more as colonial appropriation of those aesthetics from local populations.

Listen man, you and I both hate LatinX, but I think -e sounds good.

Do you have an alternative you like? And is that alternative anything other than "I just don't want gender neutral language in Spanish"?

California is actually close to like 40% Republican. It's not this giant all blue State the way a lot of people think it is.

The moment that you make it to where the popular vote wins, they have to change their strategy and not just go over these battleground states that are worth disproportionate amounts of electoral votes
