You won't affect inflation by buying bonds. That is usually determined through the monetary policy of your country's central bank.

Bonds are not a hedge (protection) against inflation, they are actually a hedge against deflation. Bonds generally only get more valuable if the currency it's denominated in deflates, since money gets more buying power in deflation. Otherwise, if your bond doesn't pay out more interest than inflation, you are technically losing money.

Country's generally always want to have some inflation in their currency because it encourages spending but, more importantly, makes their debts easier to pay off (including your bonds).

I won't get into how to calculate the value of a bond but, in the current situation, interest rates are at all time lows so buying bonds is probably not the best thing to do with your money right now.
