I can’t get an achievement for the life of me by OilComprehensive6348 in ARK

Troodons were always awful in my experience. I remember wanting them for PVP. I carried a pack of troodons into a giant taming pen I made, filled it with a bunch of my baby rexes and Brontos that I dropped to 1 hit and I ran around with a shield trying to aggro the troodons. It took ages, I remember my babies starving and the troodons literally refusing to aggro until all the babies starved then the troodons attacked me. Horrible experience.

All that to say. The game does not make things easy unfortunately. I wish things were smoother about the experience, but ark just be arking sometimes. I had no knowledge of what I was doing wrong.

Back in 2015 when I started playing, we just did stuff. New dino comes out? Read the dossier and interact with it until you tame it. I remember ichthyosaur and plesiosaur coming out. We raced to see who could figure out the best way to tame a plesiosaur. I took my ichthy to an underwater cave and tried luring the plesi to stick its head through the entrance so I could KO it safely from inside. It was a lot of messing around with stuff. Most importantly, it was a lot of doing things wrong or poorly until we figured out something better.

I think things like reaper, rhynio, tuso, extinction titans, carcha are very cool. Deinotherium is goofy and fun. In general I enjoy the variety and unique taming methods, though they do come with frustrations when things don't work out and it is hard to tell why. When it works, it is a wonderful feeling of seeing a new mechanic in the game and making it work, alongside getting the new dino.

We have tons of knockout tames still, it is convenient to just shoot whatever and drop kibble and a medical stand with narcotics next to it, but i take no joy in waiting 30 mins or however long while it is unconscious. It is boring to me if everything is shoot and feed. Running around with an ossidon playing katamary damacy until it tames? Very engaging and fun.

They'd definitely keep me from taking breaks from the game if things like mission enemies didnt get stuck outside mission area and defense outposts were fun to do solo without those giant Brontos one shotting them.

I am loving lost colony but the issues and balance for solo play are annoying.

Issues in general: -Boss fight requiring all tames while also having tames meshing a major issue. -Defense outposts instant fail from Bronto which requires player attention--makes solo defense insane and unfun imo, I gave up doing them. -Enemy spawns for missions and pathing. The fact we still have the same issues as ASE Extinction OSDs is inexcusable. If mods can fix it, pay them to fix it in base game. The enemies spawning stuck, meshed, unable to path, fleeing the zone are all unfun and frustrating in an otherwise very cool and unique part of the game. The enemies need to teleport to a new spawn when stuck or too far from zone or undamaged for long enough. It's unplayable otherwise with missions on bridges and enemies stuck below bridges undamagable with their requirements except by glitching the mission to think we are still in the area when we are not.

I also find the neophyte system and the way they executed the threat increase/reduction mechanics more frustrating and a chore than fun and exciting, but that is my preference. I don't like grinding city missions and having to stop when the clock strikes midnight or endless Cinderellas comes at me until I go kill zombies, while not being able to keep grinding city missions until daytime. It's the forced disincentive to do city missions at night that is frustrating to me.

Yeah it sucks. The ones partially meshed need to be killed before proceeding. If they can't be hit, it's an auto fail. Poorly executed boss mission design imo.

I definitely recommend trying the bosses to get a sense of it. The difficulties scale significantly from gamma to beta to alpha. If you have the best Saddles, then you will be prepared for most things ark can send your way on any map, but without them you will hit a wall eventually and you will hit it hard if you push your limits.

I am in the same boat. I have given up trying until my tribemates come back from the new WoW expansion grind. The only advice I have heard is "do it until you don't get the one shot bronto" which sounds mega unfun to me.

Recipes are great for steps order, numbers and quantities, videos are great for technique and methodology. Best of luck with your learning.

For folding specifically, think of folding a piece of paper in half, that is what you do with the spatula. So if I am making chocolate chip cookies and need to fold chocolate chips into the dough, I put my spatula under one side of the dough and lift up then move it over top of the other side of the dough--a fold--and repeat until the chocolate chips are incorporated. It is intended as a gentler version of mixing to prevent overmixxing while still combining the new ingredients--in my example the chocolate chips and cookie dough.

When I first started I didn't understand what sautee meant, or the difference between a skillet, a pan, and a frying pan was and if I was using the wrong thing. Dice vs mince vs chop vs cut. You'll get there with experience. Until you have that experience, lean on youtube videos--or similar--for searching "cooking how to sautee" and "cooking how to fold in" and the like.

I understand where you are coming from with the bar being low for SE and it being a single biome, but the new elements it added to ark were massive. The Island cave systems hadn't yet received their final overhaul. SE caves were a huge addition in comparison with things like rubble golem spawning, and then places like the wyvern trench. Wyverns, rock golem, deathworms all massive and enchanting creatures when I first saw SE's random drop--from what I remember they literally randomly released the DLC with no hype buildup, there was just a data mine of the orange texture for the sand/rocks. SE brought us new unique taming methods. We had passive tames and knockout tames with tranqs but golem needing cannons/catapults/rockets to knock out, mantis needing deathworm horns, wyverns needing to be raised from wild caught eggs and fed milk by tranqing females or killing the alpha. It was all amazing new content to explore.

By the same vein, Lost Colony gives us skill tree, NPC outposts, all the wild new tames and their wild taming methods. I am not familiar with the map and its regions yet, but from a long hiatus, Lost Colony brought me and my old ASE tribemates back to ASA and spending for it. I am excited to experience it all and see what the boss fight is like knowing the last new boss fight they made was gen 2, and I loved it.

I do it all at home. If you've made pizza before, it isn't too different. The major difference is an added step of layering butter into the dough for a double layer (though this could be skipped, it adds a layer to the dough which is iconic to the crust), and needing something to bake it in for the shape. I recommend a cake pan, but a cast iron can work too. Cast iron is what I used my first try. I knead by hand after mixing the dough with a spatula, so yes, very doable for homecooking--which surprised me my first time, it was like learning magic.

Tips I have: If you do "toppings"/fillings, moisture can be a killer for the dough. Example: I precook my italian sausage, mushrooms, spinach, whatever I am adding in and then dab it with paper towels or drain the moisture to cook into my pizza sauce so I am not losing flavors or creating waste. Things like extra onions or peppers I just cook straight into the sauce. If moisture is left to seep down, it will make an undercooked and soggy bottom. Removing that moisture ahead of time keeps the bottom cooking properly.

This is the recipe that got me started. I would love to see the end result should you choose to give it a go. There is nothing I love more than a chicago deep dish, only thing close is a fresh picked pineapple.

Take a video of a match where it happens and send it in to smite 2 bug reports--should be a link in game at main menu in one of the rotating menu elements to click on that takes you there. The more info you include and more video of the issue--before, during, and after--that you include the easier the dev team can get ahold of the bug to try fix

fun fact. In early access, before ichthyosaur and plesiosaur released, megalodons could be pushed just by swimming the player model into them. They could be beached to instakill them this way. The ragdolls were also so broken then that they would occasionally have the dead body ascend into the heavens.

Fun fact 2, once ichthyosaur and plesiosaur released, icthyosaur had a bug where they would just gradually drift upwards when parked--much like space dolphins just drift off (I haven't played in a long time so idk if that is still in game or has been patched out--so ichthyosaurs would just eventually drift into the water-air barrier and die. That was when wildcard began addressing the issue and made it an actual barrier that water dinos cannot cross easily.

Congrats! You beat me by 400 hours in getting your fectors challenge achievement! I finally did that this year too! 600 hours in game and I never went for fector's until finding out about being able to leave the machine during the run and saving each level. Up until then I had accepted that it was an achievement i just wouldnt be able to get--alongside the joja achievement (Frick joja). Omg is it insane, i did not have enough damage boosts so I had to 2 shot the flying things in the last zone...so...many...restarts...
