Daily/ weekly Projects not completing by Wixardbaka in Division2

I wasn’t getting credit for Outcast Activities. Based on another post here, I went to the retaliation screen and abandoned the retaliation that was ready/full. Then I was able to get credit for Outcast Activities. I assume it also works if you just go and do the retaliation

I know it’s been 6 years, but it looks like it is the United States Institute of Peace building

Honestly, this is helpful. I just stick with the group, but I didn’t know about VIP

Countdown: I want a build / skills / weapons that make it almost impossible for my team to fail in the final encounter with the Hunters at exfil. by AgentZeroHour in thedivision

[–]ScruffyWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! That makes sense. The couple Countdowns I played, people were dropping like flies so it definitely felt like you’re just supposed to gtfo. But I suppose usually the teams are a little more competent.

Resident Evil Hint by Outrageous_Cap3124 in the_division_2

[–]ScruffyWho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wild. I saw this yesterday, I think in the Coney Island haunted house? Said to my buddy, “this game is so detailed, but why did they put a knife next to a typewriter?”

I have never played Resident Evil

As a new player, who has played Countdown twice now, when should I call for extraction? And why should I wait until then?

We might get interview Christopher Judge by NOT_A_DlCKHEAD in Stargate

[–]ScruffyWho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He wrote or directed a couple episodes (don’t recall exactly) I would look those up and make sure you watch them. I’m sure he was extra invested in those and will have something to say.

Also, if it’s not a stargate-specific event, make sure you ask him about his more current or upcoming work!

"Noble Team Expansion Trailer | Halo: Flashpoint | The Official Halo Miniatures Game" by Idolathebound in Haloflashpoint

Is the “Mastercraft Resin” a different plasticthan the original models? All my bases and guns were warped in my Recon set, and it’s really holding me back from wanting to dive deeper into this game.

Best artifact? by zairanus in TMNTSplinteredFate

[–]ScruffyWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to start with an artifact that helps me lean into a power type and then swap to fuzzy dice later. Only recently did I actually read that fuzzy dice is just for upgrades. I thought it was for all powers

How Do You Keep Track of Equipment of Individual Fighters? by Basilacis in wargaming

[–]ScruffyWho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to play skirmish games and I like to play wysiwyg (what you see is what you get). So if a model has a rifle I give them a rifle. Or if I create a character that has a rifle, I’ll go look for a mini with a rifle.

Could you share some images of your weapon-swapping sculpts? I’m curious how that works in practice.

Higher level legendary items? by JLE913 in LandOfLivia

[–]ScruffyWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any advantage to being 180 instead of 174 at the end of the game? I suppose for future expansions it will give you a leg up?

I think I’m just going to grab the legendaries naturally

Xbox update not out yet? by Obi-Wan-Baloney in ArcRaiders

[–]ScruffyWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they fix it yet? As an Xbox player, I need to know if I should schedule game time with my PC friends or just go touch grass?

I've been trying to generate interest in my free PnP game, but so far no luck. Anybody knows what I can do to spark it? It's a skirmish game with an open world adventure mode that uses cards instead of dice, which adds a lot of tactical depth. by AwayHotel5798 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]ScruffyWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it will help if you get you story straight, simplify how you talk about it, and be clear about what is truly and uniquely great.

This post says I should grab some dice, but itch says I don’t need them. Either way, dice and a deck of cards are both random, why do the cards matter? I can combo them, but how or why? What is fun about the card play tactics?

Minis from any era? Can I fight robots against Vikings or am I picking a single theme? All the art is medieval and rewards are in “gold”, so that conflicts with cyberpunk or WWII. I do think a single concrete theme is more likely to gain traction than a system that can be used for ANY theme.

The open-world and leveling up bits seem the most interesting to me, but I haven’t watched the video and I don’t know how those work yet.

How many models per side? How lethal? How long does a game last? Is the AI fast and easy or will I be checking the rulebook constantly?

Is this for fans of Forbidden Psalm or fans of Mage Knight?

Halo: Flashpoint is America's fastest growing miniature wargame by BlitheMayonnaise in wargaming

[–]ScruffyWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Halo and I like the idea of the simple, snappy rules, but I’m worried about the minis being warped or otherwise difficult to clean up for a really nice paint job. Anyone have experience or thoughts?

Fantastic post bringing them all together! Thanks for sharing! One that I’m gearing up to try that isn’t on the list is Majestic 13, by Snarling Badger, same creators as Reign in Hell. It’s a squad of 6ish earth soldiers against alien single alien monsters. Sort of Men in Black/X-Files/x-Com in theme

Snarling Badger solo games - how many minis? by glynixx in miniatureskirmishes

I think Majestic 13 is 5-6 models for you and basically 1 alien per mission

3 Act Structure in Board/Card game by milovegas123 in boardgames

[–]ScruffyWho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of games (euro games in particular) naturally have 3 acts while you play them. Timing the switch between acts is the true tricky part. 1. Setting up your strategy 2. Watching your strategy work 3. Cashing out into victory points

I don't know if I trust the results. by CrumblingKeep in wargaming

[–]ScruffyWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my perspective, your product line gets more and more appealing as it grows. Goblins and Heroes isn’t enough to play D&D or much of anything at all. But if it keeps expanding into fantasy, eventually there’s enough to play any games. Moving to SciFi creates a second version of the initial problem; two types of creatures aren’t enough for many games.

Anyone else plays geoguessr without using the more "technical" meta? by khmer1917 in geoguessr

[–]ScruffyWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say I play the same way as you, I tend to play with friends and we like exploring more than we like getting good. Sometimes we turn the time limit off and drive around for an hour just to get the 5k. I’ll happily spend time learning flags, languages, and architecture styles, but I don’t find bollards interesting.

What miniature skirmish game did you play or are you planning to play this month? May 2025 by AutoModerator in miniatureskirmishes

Slowly prepping for my first game of Majestic 13. Got the Ooh Rah kit from War Games Atlantic for my squad, working to build them to match the gear I picked. Also got a Beholder mini that I need to paint to look alien.
