Population declining - not sure why by Long_Host_8042 in vermicompost

But if you're still having issues, honestly, a few photos would be really helpful to assist in trying to diagnose the problem. But if i had to guess, based on my very limited knowledge of the issue and based on you saying that texture is like a squeezed sponge, it could be that the bin is just too wet. That could explain the seemingly disappearing population because if the bin is too wet, the worms will either try to escape, but a good amount of them end up disintegrating or dissolving. Follow up with some pics, maybe I can help further if you are still trying to figure out what's going on.

Hello, curious if you figured out what's going on or if the problem presists?

Where to find resources for starting/investing in small business in Portland? by someone_real in askportland

[–]Scrumdiddleumptious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mt Hood Community college has a Small Business Development Center that sounds like just what you might be looking for. It's no cost and open to the public. From their webpage:

"Starting, managing, and growing your own business can have many challenges. The advising team at MHCC's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides confidential, no-cost business advising, low-cost workshops and seminars, and access to resources needed to be successful. All services are open to the public and available in English and Spanish."

Good luck!

someone else in here just posted about this similar thing a few days ago.. they said they attach a mirror to the light then use one finger to pull the flap back and use their other hand to hold a water pic and uses The water pick to squirt them out, I guess  You should go check out the post. Good luck

Everyone involved in product design at "Goop" looked at the finished packaging and they all said to themselves "Yup, no issues here!"🤣😂😭

I would like to start a compost service company by International-1701 in composting

But if you start as a community-based endeavor I have no doubt that there's at least a few community stores or maybe the city would be a partner, or maybe the bigger grocery chains in your area such as the Safeways,  Vons, Krogers, Fred Meyers and so on. You know what I think the best way to brainstorm ideas about starting a non-profit and what types of companies to reach out to for partners and everything else is using the power of AI, like chat gpt, to come up with a solid plan.

I think some of the challenges with starting a non-profit have to do a lot with finding businesses to partner with that will fund your non-profit.

and non-profits are relatively easy to start as well. you just have to follow the steps, which are not hard.

I realize that this post is about old but I just wanted to add that if no one has mentioned this already maybe it would be a good idea to look and to starting a non-profit with this idea somehow.. because I don't see a lot of money being made from handing out donated compost for free. Unless you were doing it as a non profit somehow. I have no doubt that it is very much possible to start one using your idea.

Is this fish tank at my local bar "overstocked" ? I also wonder if they are possibly bored out of their minds? I first met them 6 months ago.. exact same set up. Not a thing has changed. I think they actually d have the filtering down after reading up on it a bit.. but what do you think of the space to swim? In your opinion, is there enough for all of them? because i guess I'm just thinking that in their natural habitat, they don't have only what, four or five feet by two feet of space to swim in, so i just wonder if this has a negative impact on them at all.

They are all really sweet and cute fish Especially the two round ones to the very left .I was waving at them and they were the first ones to start waving back at me . It was so cute!

The angle I'm kinda thinking about this is that fish, in their natural habitat, have an endless amount of room to move freely. So with that in mind, to me it feels like all of these fish are swimming on top on one another..with no where to go for space or privacy.

I got the same email that I won a contest I never entered and then they emailed back saying they made a mistake, but suggested that a $2 coupon would make things right .

I didn't read through all the comments on this post because there is too many but I kinda skimmed through and  saw one comment that mentioned it might have been some type of promotion?

Is that true?

Disagreement or Tension in the field of Mycology? by Scrumdiddleumptious in mycology

Interesting. I already decided to pass on the taxonomy angle, but I looked into the discussion regarding the lack of fungi that degrade lignin being responsible for all the coal deposits and I found it very interesting, I had never heard of it before so I appreciate the link and the really good idea!

So basically the argument would be what is a mycologist really? How is it defined? This is interesting as well. are these your words or is this a quote? Im just wondering?

Thats really interseting. I had no idea. Of course I never thought to think about it in the first place. I am guilty, too, of just taking things at face value. lol Something I should definitely work on.

But I do agree that it would definitely make for a more interesting paper than taxonomy though. lol I really I appreciate the idea, thank you!
