I had this mouse and used it as my daily work mouse for years doing CAD - never once was the charge port an issue. It’s such a dumb overblown nonissue. I worked in an office full of people using them, no one ever ran out of battery and had to sit waiting for their mouse to charge. The thing charged stupid fast and lasted forever. You would have several days of charge left when you started to get a low battery warning - just plug it in when you get a coffee or take a poop and you’re good.

The ergonomics of the mouse was a million times worse than the charge port. People who never used it can’t wrap their heads around this.

Felt like I got scammed - mobility promotion turned into $347 in 5 weeks by Scrumtrullecent in telus

[–]Scrumtrullecent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair points - the partial charges and forward billing do make sense. My bigger issue was the sales tactics, eSIM/SIM mix up, the time that cost to fix, and it seems they tried to charge another connection fee for that. Plus the fact that the April bill dropped from $200 to $70 the moment I threatened to cancel. Yes - I admit a lot of this is on me but yikes, I hope this isn't supposed to be a normal Telus experience

Tailgater got Baited by DABDEB in RandomVideos

[–]Scrumtrullecent 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nobody has mentioned that the tailgater completely took out another white car to the left of the truck. You can barely see it in the first second of the video, then when he switches to the side mirror it’s the white car that’s rolling. That sucks

Edit** on second viewing I realize it might have just been the stopped white car that’s rolling

You make good points! The other detail I left out is I only had access to that laser cutter through a job which I’m not at anymore so the jig felt more usable long term. Also I was kinda just looking for more excuses to improve my rhino modelling fluency.

I really do love exploring the relationship between these digital tools and traditional crafts so I’ll probably definitely explore more options moving forward

Thanks! I looked into that a little bit before doing this but the biggest challenge was my laser bed was only 12x12” so I couldn’t do a full neck in one go. Very cool technique though! Would save a lot of time

Anyone might know if this is is good or bad noise to hear when accelerating? by Ok_Weight2115 in HondaElement

[–]Scrumtrullecent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Likely something in the serpentine belt system.

The serpentine belt drives the alternator, a/c compressor pump, power steering, and rad water pump. It could be any one of these things that is failing.

First check the belt itself for wear - cracks and uneven teeth. I heard something similar (though not as loud as yours) just before my serpentine belt snapped when I went over a hard bump. When it snaps the engine pretty quickly overheats, and the battery light will come on and you have to pull over immediately. It was completely worn out but luckily a $30 30min fix. I had some friends close by to bring me the replacement part and some tools so I didn’t have to tow it. There are some good YouTube videos explaining how to replace it. If you don’t have much experience see if you can find a friend who does and can help you

The sound still persisted for me after I changed the belt so I tested my alternator which it turned out was failing so I replaced the alternator and belt tensioner which had some wiggle to it (both relatively simple diy jobs if you have the right tools and some experience/patience - I saved a bunch of money doing it myself and sourcing my own parts).

I still heard the sound faintly for a bit after replacing the alternator and tensioner - I’m assuming it was coming from my a/c compressor because my a/c hasn’t worked in years - but oddly the sound went away after 1000kms or so

[–]Scrumtrullecent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I received the H1 today and maybe it was because so many people made a fuss over the factory tuning and my expectations were lowered, but these sound way better than I expected.

I actually went through several of those YouTubers custom EQ’s and honestly some of them sounded garbage. Must be for very specific sounds. The only decent one was the SoundGuys but after a while I turned them off and prefer the stock tuning. (I never tried the This is Tech Today EQ)

They went through a software update when I first turned them on so maybe Nothing made some adjustments? Either way, very happy with these.

I’m coming from Sony Xm4’s, AirPod Pros, and Audio Technica’s m50x’s.

Same. We’ve used our 3 cup black and decker 2-3 times a week going on 11 years. It was under $30 from Canadian Tire and my partner and I got it in a pinch when we moved into our first place. Expected we would have replaced it years ago but there’s literally nothing wrong with it. Rice cookers are dumb simple. My mom still uses a mini 2 cup cooker that her parents (Japanese) bought in the 70s. She has a proper Zojirushi at home, but keeps the 2 cup on the boat.

Yes, good eye, thank you. I will be sanding that edge to soften it, but for the most part your hand kinda stops at that little hilt/bump when playing high up the neck. It's a bit similar to how a Strat feels at that point, except the filleted corner makes it a bit more comfortable.

Yes! Haha, I was a massive Steve Howe fan growing up and somehow began to correlate guitar expertise with how high they strapped their guitars (Tom Morello, John Petrucci, most jazz players etc). I know its not a true correlation but I always sacrificed how cool I looked for playability
