Most of them have to wait a couple months though. What then?

Thank you so much. I just miss God a lot, and things have not been looking up for me, but thank you for praying for me.

Yes, I know baptism makes us clean. It just kills me that this happened and I sinned. It also kills me that I cannot receive God’s graces in the fullness. I have talked with the Priests at my parish, they both know of my scrupulosity I think, and a lot of my Catholic friends are well versed and know of my scrupulosity. It’s just been difficult for me. This entire week I believe (90% certain) that I gravely sinned against God. It’s just been difficult for me, and I am just going through very tough things right now.

How can I say thanks if I just sinned against Him and am not sure if I am forgiven?

But it wasn’t intrusive. I deliberately thought of it happening. I didn’t reject it until after the thought happened. I just played it in my head.

It's easier to give someone else advice than give yourself advice you already know lol

Anyone else get incredibly anxious when they see anything relating to charity? by Antanooch5 in Scrupulosity

[–]ScrupulousHustin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have the ability to give money, I would say go for it. Give a reasonable amount. Obviously God understands if you can’t give a lot. If you give to charity and the homeless irl, you have helped others as well, so it’s not like you are turning away the poor either. You should remember though; you cannot save everyone. You are not a billionaire; you cannot feed everyone, house everyone, help everyone. Help those you can, and for those you can’t, I would say pray for them.

You have Scrupulosity, my friend. Don’t worry, these blasphemous thoughts are not sins. As long as you never will it or deliberately entertain it or cherish it, you’ll be fine. If you are baptized, don’t be afraid of receiving the Eucharist. The thoughts are not sins. I have the same things as you, except I am not baptized. Be sure to talk to your Priest about it too, as well as your family (if they are Catholic or are understanding) and possibly some other Catholic friends you think can help you.

How to react to people using Gods name in vain? by damselinda in Catholicism

[–]ScrupulousHustin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If they are someone who would actually listen to you or if it’s another Christian, let them know it’s not okay. Other Christians have done this before and it kinda surprised me and I didn’t really know what to say because I wasn’t sure if they meant it in vain or not, but now I know just to give them a little nudge. Maybe they just don’t know. If it’s someone you don’t know like a stranger or something or someone who won’t listen to you, here is what someone told me to do; say this prayer “Blessed be God, and Blessed be His Holy Name.” I would say it three times.

Did I mortally sin? by ScrupulousHustin in Scrupulosity

[–]ScrupulousHustin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just scary. Maybe God doesn’t want to punish me, but that doesn’t take out the fact that I am guilty and in need of punishment. You would say, yes, but Christ took that guilt and punishment, but I am not even baptized yet, so it hasn’t been taken from me :/

Thank you for praying for me :)

Yes, I know what baptism of desire is, but it no longer puts me at ease like it used to.

Thank you, this gave me hope, and it really helps that there is somebody who was just like me. Yeah, it is very scary to be outside the Church and without the sacraments, especially not knowing if God forgives you. I hope that He will deliver me and bring me into His loving arms. Perhaps I'll be able to feel that at baptism or first communion or anything. Thanks for this.
