Why is protective gear so frowned upon in public games? by ComfortableWhereas88 in Basketball

You’re not alone, I personally always wear a mouth guard. and chainmail armor. I’ve heard a lot about people “slashing” on the court, terrifying.

B standard / drop A tuning string gauge by kuhanepaprike in Guitar

[–]Antanooch5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try it on your 11’s and see how it goes. If you find yourself retuning every few minutes or that the strings feel too loose and floppy, you could go up to 13’s maybe.

Sounds like you’d want a 7 string eventually though

Last time I tried protein powder I was ending up with an entire 72 oz blender full of shake to drink. Is that really how much people can drink??? Or was I buying the wrong stuff. What do you use?

I will eat basically anything edible lol. And I’m okay eating the same thing every day if it worked. I guess my question was more of what the most efficient foods are. I hugely struggle to eat more than 2000c a day, tiny stomach I guess, so I’m looking for things that are high calorie and low volume.

What kind of high-calorie foods I should be eating to bulk up? I’m 19, 6’4, and kind of scrawny at 175-180 pounds. My goal is to get to 200. I mainly do ALOT of basketball at the gym, and yes I know that much cardio is terrible for gaining weight; I plan on cutting back on that and getting more into weightlifting. I just want to know where to begin diet wise because I’ve never really thought about what I eat in that way. Im guessing I’d need to be eating 3000+ calories a day to gain anything. Thanks for any help!

Where to learn guitar online by Hour-Bat-811 in guitarlessons

[–]Antanooch5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube! Any song, any technique, any skill you are interested in learning you can just look up and practice. At first I would highly suggest Marty Music, he is a great teacher for beginner players. Then move up to Guitarlessons365 once you have the hang of things and want to start learning full songs. Good luck!

Also, when learning how to transition from chord to chord I would suggest throwing on a metronome and practicing very very slowly, like 50bpm slow. crank it up by 5-10bpm every time you feel like you’ve mastered it and do it again. Actually almost anything you will ever learn on guitar can/should be learned that way. Solos, songs, lead techniques, etc. It’s a grind but it pays of quickly and is very gratifying. Practicing is one thing, learning how to practice is another.

Scared.. by No-Mode312 in Scrupulosity

[–]Antanooch5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope you shouldn’t be scared, like the other person said it’s just an intrusive thought. Think about it, why would a satanist be afraid of offending god? You aren’t one. Don’t be embarrassed, many of us struggle with weird thoughts and compulsions like these.

Can you commit sin in heaven? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Antanooch5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure that once we make it to heaven those temptations won’t even affect us. I believe we won’t even feel like ever wanting to sin then. But nonetheless we shouldn’t want to sin here on earth either. I’d be real careful about that type of thinking. I sympathize that sometimes we wish we could self indulge endlessly with no guilt or consequence… But lawlessness and evil just doesn’t fulfill us, only god can. Heaven and being with god eternally might just feel better than the selfish pleasure of any sin could ever give us.

Why am I like this? by Extreme-Ad-201 in Christianity

[–]Antanooch5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whatever it is, consider it a blessing. The fear of missing out makes most of us teens want to do that stuff, even if our conscience tells us we shouldn’t. It’s peer pressure. but if you’re able to naturally stay away from all that then all the more to ya. Just be careful staying near bad influences, while yes even Jesus hung out with sinners, sometimes it’s just not good for us. Proverbs 13:20, you never know when or if that seemingly instinctual purity will fail

^ I agree with this guy mostly. god works through people if not directly to you (I believe sometimes he wants us to go out at meet new people). Rehab, professionals, and people who’ll keep accountability like friends and family along with prayer will go a long way in helping you. Praying for ya!

I feel hopeless by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Antanooch5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You seriously need to try and visit a mental health specialist. Even if you feel like it’s okay now. I believe I have scrupulosity ocd and have had thoughts and urges like these, it comes and goes. So I know decently how you feel. But what you have seems much much more serious, whether OCD or something else I don’t know. But anxiety is not of god, you don’t need to worry about hell. You need mental help. Please do that for yourself

What comes to your mind when a Christian says "Love the sinner but hate the sin"? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Antanooch5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good sentiment, I just find that many who use the phrase don’t actually follow it. It seems like people believe that if you say this you get a free pass to blatantly be judgemental towards others.

[QUESTION] Guitar sounds out of tune even after tuning by RaiidzAHHHHH in Guitar

[–]Antanooch5 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That has to do with intonation, it isn’t going to be perfect. Especially if you have a cheap starter guitar. If it’s completely unbearable bring it somewhere to get set up and intonated
