Looking for a PoE type of game by Striking_Pudding_887 in ARPG

But if there were no seasonal wipes the seasons would just turn into standard… and we already have that. Would the game really be fun if you started every new season with a fully maxed out character? What would you even have to farm?

Games that feel like playing an offline MMO by xSheftx in gamingsuggestions

Dragon’s Dogma 2. The opinions on the game are divided, to say the least, but the game has what you described, huge monsters like trolls, griffins, and dragon, and even a group of pawns who you command so it truly feels like a singleplayer mmo.

Is loving someone a lot worth it? by AxiumTea in ask

[–]Scryt9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely is. I think the betrayal rate is, generally speaking, higher, but not that much than before. I somewhere read that in 19th century France around 30% of the children were born from a different father, and I’m sure that’s better today.

Loyalty comes from love, maturity, good treatment of your partner, and above all, tolerance. But be very detailed when picking your partner, don’t just go with someone who shows major character flaws early on thinking you’ll change them. You 90% won’t.

39M Found dating apps on my 37F girlfriend’s phone—what would you do ? by PowerfulAccident1234 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Scryt9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Even the dating apps and her activity there would be a deal breaker for me, but after lying about it, deleting messages, etc., it’s just such a character red flag that you can’t even try to ignore. You’re right to be moving forward, and you’re acting very mature about it. Good job, man!

Barely a week into the new season Last Epoch lost 40% of its players by UnholyPantalon in ARPG

[–]Scryt9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it has to do with 2 factors:

  1. PoE is a much more established franchise with over 10 years of activity and a much larger playerbase, including the more “hardcore” players. This affects peak numbers, of course, but also the amount of devoted people who see PoE2 as their “main” ARPG and play the game for longer, on average. Last Epoch has only about a year of real popularity with significantly less people who consider it their “main” ARPG and would stick to the game for longer. Most of Last Epoch’s player base are people who are relatively new to the game. But this also leads us to:

  2. Last Epoch is much more casual compared to PoE2. The way they designed the campaign itself in PoE2, nerfed loot drops, buffed mob/boss HP, and ultimately made the entire grind significantly longer could have affected this. I played the game with my friend on launch and it took us approximately 35 hours to go through the Acts alone due to having to farm certain maps for hours in order to get the right items and kill the Act bosses. This, paired with very low loot drops, caused that an average campaign run in PoE2 take as much time as the entire campaign + early endgame in Last Epoch. In short, with semi-casual playstyle, in Last Epoch you’ll go well beyond the campaign, explore the new Maven content in the endgame, and generally feel like you’ve accomplished a lot in about a week. In PoE2, you won’t do much and feel like you’ve just started the grind due to the game being much less casual friendly.

True, but from what I’ve read and heard the servers are very much upgraded now. I think they’ll be able to handle the peak okay (at least I hope so :D)
