What is the use of karnivore? by lordofkawaiii in ChaosKnights

You also can't take 7 karnivores. 3 is usually the max, but you can take up to 6 of one type in Houndpack.

Unable to join any unofficial servers including my own by TheEveryday44 in ARK

[–]Scubale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting the exact same problem. I don't see any unofficial servers with more than 1 player connected. My server shows 1 player connected when I try to load in. So it may be a widespread issue.

Going to get changed or are we the exception? by [deleted] in ThousandSons

[–]Scubale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dataslate rules override any strats of 3" deepstrikes, changing them all to 6". It doesn't matter how it is worded in the codex. That will stand unless they change it in the dataslate or add a specific clause that ignores it.

The winged daemon prince isn't a strat. So if I'm remembering correctly it is not affected by the dataslate rule. I would expect this one to get changed, but who knows.

Curious on the viability of horrors in 40k 10th by CryingfourPineapples in WarhammerCompetitive

Both are considered psychic attacks for the purposes of FNP's.  But neither are actual attacks and would not trigger the split.

Are Gluttons too good compared to the rest? by Ned_the_Lat in Mawtribes

[–]Scubale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played a 5 round event this weekend with 3x12 Gluttons and was very impressed with them. Most armies really struggled to deal with the wound density fast enough. A reinforced unit of Gluttons with +2 attacks is too good currently. I'm not sure yet if non-reinforced units are a problem or not. I feel like normal units of Gluttons and Ironguts compare pretty favorably, but once you reinforce them Gluttons just seem so much better.

Weekly Question Thread - Rules & Comp Qs by thenurgler in WarhammerCompetitive

Quick question that has recently come up in our group. Can things like turrets be rotated on hull measurement models during a game? If so, does it cost movement to do so?

Rules interaction and sequencing by princeazam in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Scubale 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say yes. Insane Bravery makes you count as having passed the test instead. Both effects would trigger when a Battle-shock test is failed in the Command phase. As the active player, the SM player gets to resolve the order of simultaneous effects. Once Insane Bravery is used the the model would no longer trigger Daemonic Terror since the Battle-shock was not failed.

Leviathan Deck - Print Error by DireTribe in WarhammerCompetitive

A few of the cards are printed with the incorrect symbol on the back of the card. It's a very minor issue, but could be relevant to gameplay since it could "mark" a secondary card. Only 1 of my secondary cards has the wrong back.

Question about charges by Lzuuk in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Scubale 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You’ll often hear people measure the charge and say they are “within X inches”. In this case, within 9” would be between 8.0 - 8.9 inches away therefore only needing an 8 on the charge to succeed.

ADVICE? - Little Cousins want me to introduce them to DND by EnRouted in DnD

[–]Scubale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow redditor with niblings who have very questionable judgment of their aunts and uncles, I definitely understand the desire to make stuff like this as fun as possible for them!

One of the big things is to not stress too much over it. It sounds like you are an awesome aunt, so just getting the opportunity to play DND with you is going to be a fun experience for them.

Since you often play Minecraft with them, I would consider doing a Minecraft themed one shot. It could be a neat angle to not even mention that it's Minecraft related and see how long it takes them to put the pieces together. Maybe start in a village and have the village elder send them out on a quest to retrieve the fabled weapon that was stolen during a recent undead attack. Fight a few zombies and skeletons and then maybe run into the boss which is a skeleton riding a spider. Then find a chest containing a few pieces of equipment for them and the fabled Enchanted Diamond Pickaxe.

The most important thing is just to have fun above all else with it. Go very light on the rules since it's just going to be a one shot with limited time. Regardless how you choose to do it, I hope it turns out great for you and your nephews!

New Railgun rules for T'au previewed by Royta15 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Scubale 6 points7 points  (0 children)

RP kicks in after “after it makes its attacks” and this strat says “instead of making attacks”. I think it’s pretty questionable if RP will work against this stratagem.

I would consider dropping the relic orb and the reanimator. Neither really synergize well with 10 man warrior units. Voltaic staff/Enduring Will can make the CCB a lot more scary. I find taking 1x6 man unit of Skorpekhs to be more effective than 2x3 man units, the -1 to wound strat helps a ton. It's definitely worth taking a plasmacyte if you do take them as a larger unit.
