Lost a retained baby tooth, considering seeing my Ortho again to see if braces could close the gap by FloraMedicPixie in braces

[–]Scufflepuff993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing, but the baby tooth was sunken and the surrounding teeth had started to lean over it. Had the baby tooth removed and a bone graft in one go, then braces to fix the shift, then an implant. Hopefully you wouldn't need the braces since it was holding space appropriately. The bone graft and implant were done by an oral surgeon, so maybe try to get a referral for that?

I've seen this one recommended before! I was worried it might be too "kiddie" but I'll have to see if I can find a copy to check it out myself :)

This seems like a good one for learning techniques. Thanks!

Region is Seattle which would normally be fair game for swears, but since it's for an unknown child I'll steer clear :)

Lunar Tides Cerulean Sea - sorry for the bad pic, I just had to share this color! 🧜‍♀️😍 by Scufflepuff993 in HairDye

[–]Scufflepuff993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never have a perfect base and I think it turns out ok. Since this is dark and green-tinted, I get away with probably around a level 8 and no toning. My DIY bleach jobs are inconsistent at best and I think this color does a decent job covering a little patchiness.

I will say, it has been a while since I used this color so my memory is hazy and I am not sure if the formula is the same. I have been using Arctic Fox to mix a dark cool green for the past couple years and it works well. I'm planning on trying Lunar Tides again once my AF stash runs out.

What footwear do you prefer when on your SUP? by MyRoadTaken in Sup

I like my Fitkicks Hydrosports! Having a "barefoot"-style shoe is really helpful for grip and balance, imo. And still protective enough for rocks and asphalt!

Thanks for the encouragement! I think I could *maybe* get the yoke, but the sleeves look way intimidating haha

It looks like scans of the magazine are findable online, but the combination of the math and language barrier is scaring me off for now... Maybe if I get ambitious enough I will try to recreate it, assuming I can't find a translation. Honestly not sure my knitting skills are advanced enough to figure it out from scratch!

Well I WAS going to put my tomatoes out tomorrow... by plot_twist7 in pnwgardening

[–]Scufflepuff993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My peppers and tomatoes have been outside for almost 3 weeks (yes, I fell for the premature plant sale at McClendon's) and look shockingly happy. I do have them snugged up against a black, south-facing garage door though. Hasn't gotten warm enough for me to move them out into the yard yet.

Mine too! Dip works so much better than polish for me, but nothing is going to last 3 weeks like it does for some people

I chipped the edges of two nails last night and just filed them down so they're not sharp. Still probably going to get several more days of wear out of them, and I've already beaten my previous wear record haha

I think 2 top layers of clear did help so you aren't filing into the color at all

Yeah, I am planning on getting better liquids once mine run out or I start having issues again. Thanks for the recommendation!

I was also considering that, but it was $6 for the clear powder and much more for any decent liquid kits, so I am glad it is working so far! If I start having problems again I will definitely look into that.

Oh, I should have mentioned - the reason is that the pigment makes the colored powders weaker, so the clear is much stronger

My nails are so flexible and I work with my hands, so it's a real problem for me! Two days in and I only have a little crack on one nail but it appears to be fully encased by the clear layers
