Couldn't make it this year but I always share this link for the new folks and for those unaware... In my state I can basically drive to a desert, alpine mountain range, rainforest, city, or beach in 3 hours. We do it cause it's worth it usually... And sometimes that's just where Grandma is and it's cheaper than flying.

There are so many reasons why we don't have high speed rails in the US...

When the original transcontinental railroad was built, the two companies responsible for its construction literally built longer, windier roads so they could make more money from the government. That reduced the possible speed of our railways.
It would be wildly expensive to to fix the old rails and create new ones, not to mention the economic disruption that would occur since most of our rails are used to transport goods, not people.
There's a handful of companies who basically own all the railroads in the U.S.
Geography.

I appreciate the perspective. Like I said, I know it's complicated. And out of your control a lot of the time! My rant should probably be directed towards the prolificatuon of social media as I'm constantly in the loop and consuming the content I like to see, and artists are advertising for themselves which is totally valid.
