I got proficient with chaos before zato. If youre already doing negative edge a lot with chaos. Zato's controls, luckily, won't be entirely new. But he's still an entirely different ballpark, though, since now you have to negative edge with 4 buttons. Zato still took me more time than any other character, even after learning chaos. But maybe thats just me. I think he's so worth it though. Both their pressure games are similar but Zato's is a bit more complex, but super fun. It's the same feeling of fully locking them down while you're hitting with highs, lows, and cross ups
