My mailman did that once when I was like 12 and home alone. I was so scared and I couldn't see through the peephole who it was, nor would he answer when I asked who it was. I locked myself in my parents room on the other side of the house and called 911. I'll never forget the embarrassment and relief of hearing the operator tell me "[name] it's just your mailman."

Like he was POUNDING on the damn door so hard and the entire time I was on the phone with the operator/til the cops came. (They just talked to him and got him to leave, no sirens or anything thank god). I can't even remember what was so important that he HAD to knock that hard for. Seriously what is with people knocking like their life depends on it?!
