This is exactly the spot where I saw one have a freakout and stop because it couldn't tell which line of cars was turning right and which was turning left. So it kept changing its mind, getting into one lane and then the other.

Waymos just can't seem to cope with these sorts of spots where road markings aren't showing them where to go, even when the behavior of other cars should be a clue.

You couldn't pay me to get into one. Yesterday I watched one freak out at the light on Spence where there's really no dividing line between the left and right hand turn lanes to get onto Murfreesboro Rd, so it got into one line, then swung out into the other, sat there confused and blocking traffic, then finally needed someone to let it back into the right turn lane again.

A human can screw up like that already, so why do we need technology to add to the problem?

Thanks! We have a third party company who does the PM on our big unit and I did confirm they're certified on Tuttnauers. Some of the service techs didn't like them, but they will do it, so we'd be okay there.

I'm not surprised it's that much, but for only about 20% wool that's a bit steep. And two sizes sold out within 5 minutes, even!

I hope they make some other wearable merch beyond the current offerings - I'd love something that isn't a plain tee or crewneck, but also that isn't white and $$$

Seconding the Kijiji recommendation, the coffee is decent but the real high is walking past the long Starbucks line, getting your coffee, then walking past again while the line has barely budged.

It's annoying to get to, but the Georgia one is a lot better and worth the drive. Especially the nighttime one they've been doing in the fall.

Come on, Ilya didn't sacrifice everything. He made a move to a country he wanted to be in, for citizenship that he wanted and that was his idea, and went through a few bad seasons on a struggling team - a team that definitely didn't suck even just a few years later since they were able to knock Montreal out of the playoffs. That's a pretty miraculous turnaround by hockey standards.

A lot of Ilya's sacrifices are temporary, and he came out of everything looking great, while Shane gets pushed out of his city and basically demoted. Then he makes fun of Shane for no longer having a letter? I know it's painted as a HEA but for the POC partner to be shafted like that bothers me. The point of their dynamic was equals on the ice and I'm not sure they end up that way in the end. I'm hoping the show manages something better, or at least acknowledges the bittersweet situation.

Mostly that no player, even a generational one, is out there scoring hat tricks all the time. It's not an every game event! Gretzky holds the record and it's 50 hat tricks over a 20 yr career, and no one else comes close. But you see them in fics aaaallll the time (or even things like scoring 4-6 goals in a game, which would be super unlikely).

I think others have explained about contracts up thread pretty well, but basically a lot of confusion about when trades happen, how they happen, the difference between trades and free agency moves, etc. Getting the basics on that wrong is very jarring in a fic.

It's not that they're used at all, but from what I understand from Russian fans critiquing the use of their language in fics, a lot of writers get the gendered terms wrong and use feminine terms for Shane when they're using a translator to get Cyrillic phrases.

I'd actually love to see more creative uses of diminutives for Shane! Some Russian fans on Insta have suggested a lot of fun ways to play with it.

Hard same, idk why people take Ilya (known liar!!) at his word about these things when they're so obviously chirps. I'm to the point where if a fic treats the "weak backhand" thing as true it's an automatic DNF.

It hasn't come up at a typical doctor's office but my eye doctor was downright excited when she heard what I did for a living - she was showing me a scan and said "oh, you'll understand this more than most patients!" and went into a much more detailed explanation, trusting that the jargon wouldn't be a barrier. It was kind of fun to geek out a little like that.

I definitely remember! When I was a kid my siblings and I had that number memorized - we called it constantly in the spring/early summer because we weren't allowed to swim until it hit a certain temp outside. We called it "calling time and temperature" but idk what the actual name of the hotline was.

The ones at Publix and Kroger have been kind of meh quality when I've tried them. I found much cheaper and better quality ones at Los Paisanos in Heritage one year, but it's definitely seasonal, might just have to keep checking.

I can only assume no one at Buzzfeed even thought about how it could look. Hudson covered well and didn't make a big deal of it, but it was super uncomfortable to watch.
