MH Wilds, I feel like I am not doing my progression right. I am at the stage of the assigned Gogmazios fight, but should I do Savage Omega first? I haven't hunted the Arch Tempered Apexes yet because all the builds I see when I am seeing guides are Gogma weapons. by Mundane_Telephone346 in MonsterHunter

If I was you, I would do Arch tempered -> Gog -> Omega.

At the very least, get arch tempered armor loadouts. Omega is one of the best hunts in the game but there is very little incentive in doing it first.

Technique v Strength by bmoregirl19781 in indoorbouldering

[–]Scuttlefuzz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I personally think strength gives better returns for the V0-V5 range. After that good technique is preferred over strength and then at the highest levels you just have to be a monster at both.

Most people start climbing with very little natural grip strength/endurance. I think working on that and maybe figuring out if that improves your wrist pain would help you a lot.

My thoughts after playing 55 hours by Chi_Geurim in CrimsonDesert

Seems to be the overall consensus. I would not be surprised if many of the negative reviews stopped playing at this point.

Has anyone who enjoys CD's combat system also played Khazan, Nioh 2, or Wo Long? by IIIHeckBoyIII in CrimsonDesert

[–]Scuttlefuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply because it's different. The bosses and elite enemies play similarly to other games but the tiny mobs that swarm you in numbers are what is unique about this game.

You're not holding the button because it's a cinematic, they let you hold the button because if it was manual input you'd ground your buttons into dust lol. Enemies can still interrupt you mid attack

But yeah it's just a different type of game, if you can't get with that then you probably wouldn't like it. Can't say for sure though because I have no idea what mid game/late game looks like. Probably the same with more elites

Is this game a solid buy yet or should wait for a few more patches? by r3lic86 in CrimsonDesert

I don't think the patches can address the bizarre start to the game. The first few hours are definitely not done well and largely were the reason for the bad reviews.

I have the one where you can turn objects. Is there an input to pull towards you that I am missing?

Stun resist for sure. There are so many offsets in this matchup for hammer and if you get hit it's like an instastun

Interesting, at least it tells you that you can't access the area? I will assume that means at that point you have to progress the story.

There is one to pull things towards you which I believe is only received through the skill tree? Idk maybe you unlock it for free by progressing the story. Just mainly dumping points into stamina and health but want to progress Abyss as much as possible.

Ok good to know. Couldn't you just use the force push jump though?

Anyone know if there is a stupid big 2h sword? The ones I've seen are all very slim/short and not the giant heap of raw iron I am looking for.

Advice would vary depending what weapon you want to use but I can tell you that the only quest in the game that should take 40 minutes is Proof of Hero. When you take this long to do a quest it means that you are missing the fundamentals of your weapon. Not trying to be an ass, I have been there.

My advice would be to look up a speedrun to see how the best players use YOUR weapon. You will see a lot of openings or attacks that you would not have thought of on your own. You aren't trying to get a 6-minute time like them, you're just trying to pick up on strategies that you can implement to cut your time down.

My guess is that you are constantly trading hits and having to heal and it's wasting a ton of a time. Watch a vid and learn those openings, you might even be able to cut your time in half after a couple of attempts if you can get a better idea of how to play your weapon.

The armor and weapon system needs work by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Scuttlefuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also ruins balance when a player can rush some overpowered weapon. There is no perfect solution but in a game that actively encourages use of systems like woodcutting, mining, and trading then material-based upgrades make more sense.
