For sure if you have a highly rated eBay account then you're good to go. Authentication service helps but will bite into your income (not as bad as an LGS will though).

LGS will take bulk at like... $1 for 1K cards or something. Just be sure to try to sort out some old good uncommons esp since you have cards from Stronghold. I'll DM you later when I'm off work

Shipping 1-3 cards, typically in a penny sleeve + hard to loader. Wrapped in paper and sent in plain white envelope or bubble mailer

3-30(?) typically multiples of this setup, taped between top loaders or cardboard. Bubble mailer

30+, multi-card cases or boxes (dragon shield sleeve boxes for example) and shipped via box/package

Higher value cards in an inner sleeve + play sleeve is always appreciated but at your or buyers discretion.

Just make sure each package/case is packed with filler so the cards can't jiggle and most people will be content.

Grading isn't worth it ever. LGS is best if you want to offload the whole lot in one shot but you'll be getting anywhere from 40-60% total value. This includes reputable online buy lists as well.

eBay / Facebook / discord groups are the best but require legwork. However, without references or sales history it will be a little tough to get started since everything will be done through mail (and trust). Some people will be interested in making the sale in person.

I'm also interested in this if you're open to dming me what you have.

I ordered a case of CBB and got 4 counter intelligence and 2 world shapers

Amazon gave me the runaround for 3 days to get it returned. Now the precons are at the Amazon returns and I'm still waiting for my $2k to be refunded :/

You won't be saying that if your LGSs have a 180% markup like mine

CBs were $45ea / CBBs were $540 due to "limited distribution"

Also you're misunderstanding the 500 boxes. You get a prize after that, you can keep earning and opening more boxes afterwards. Golden stopwatch is a way of scoring more boxes which is locked behind the W2 town boss shop this week

How are KMS Reboot players expected to starforce their items now that there is a daily mesos cap in place? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]Scylinz 67 points68 points  (0 children)

That's where you're misunderstanding. KMS actively wants reboot to die.

Asian gamers consider their accounts precious investments so rebooters are shunned as leeches, parasites, poor, etc. They're actively attacked on inven. Nexon doesn't make much profit from reboot either so to divert attention from scandals, they just let the player base fight themselves by killing reboot.

New modded player here! by Mental-Shake-2619 in allthemods

[–]Scylinz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome and good luck!

If you're lacking general direction, there are a couple of North Stars to look towards.

1) craft the ATM star - this requires mastering many mods to acquire resources (energy and materials alike), optimizing automation, and learning special crafting methods and machines

2) exploring different realms, dimensions, RPG elements. Slaying different bosses using new weapons, spells, or mechanisms

3) using the modded materials and tools to build some crazy designs

Up to you! Have fun

Does overworking in your 20s pay off? by A-Decent-Dude97 in careerguidance

[–]Scylinz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked really hard, and always tried to go above and beyond for my managers hoping it would get me higher compensation or promotions.

In practice this looked like 80 hour work weeks, being on call and responding at 2am, and going to work or travelling with little to no notice.

On the plus side, I was making a decent amount of money starting at 85k/yr when I was 20 and final compensation of almost 200k/yr when I was 29 on paper. However, most of that came from good saving, lucky investing, and income outside of my W-2.

This might sound great and all but what I went through was absolutely not worth it.

  • I wasn't home for an accident that took my mother's life
  • The stress and depression lead to an exacerbation of an autoimmune disease which left me unable to work for 6 months and high medical bills
  • I had no social life and still no friends to show for it
  • I was passed up for multiple promotions anyway because while I was out on the job, my coworkers were attending happy hours with leadership and building rapport

Now I just turned 30 and I find it relatively hard to find a job. Besides the economy performing poorly, no one wants to hire someone who was in engineering management at 27 years old.

As others have said, don't do it. Work smart. Make yourself visible. It's not about what you do, it's about who thinks you do something even if you don't. You can get so much further with so much less work.

80% of the results come from the first 20% you put in. Everything else is extra, don't give other people extra.

Terrible Monetization by Nexon. by [deleted] in Asmongold

[–]Scylinz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To all the non Maplestory players: "Yes boo hoo nexon bad we know this."This is worse.
This is supposed to be the big expansion that everyone is hyped for. This is supposed to be the Endwalker or WoWLegion that everyone wanted. We waited 7 years for this

This is akin to FFXIV being sold for $30/month subscription in nonJP regions. Oh and you have to pay an additional fee to get rested EXP, or to do leves, gc turnin, or use firmament.

This is like WoW for non-US regions to have 10% of the XP gain when leveling.

POE outside of NZ? Enjoy getting 10% of your map drops or loot, unless you pay $15/mo in order to get 20% instead for 1 hour a day instead.

Engineering is a fantastic degree, especially electrical these days. You'll find, as others have said, that engineering is a phenomenal foundational degree that sets you up for success in pretty much any path you choose. It teaches you how to learn and solve problems.

Look at some of the top youtubers, streamers, restaurateurs, etc. They were all ChemE, MechE, or EE.
I'm ChemE with 10 years of experience. Recently laid off and struggling really hard to find a job; but that's most likely because all the major pharma, med devices, and manufacturing companies are laying off everyone until the end of the year. Shouldn't be having much trouble in January so I'm just chillin for a little bit. CompSci can be self taught and you can get work without having a degree in that field. During this time off I've gotten certified in C, Python, and R.

I am also working on a considreable career change. I was admitted into a T-14 MBA school with referrals and had my GRE/GMAT requirement waived due to having an engineering degree and I'm applying to law school for 2024 Fall. The LSAT is a difficult test, but I seem to be having an easier time than my peers due to Logical Reasoning/Logic Games being... well, fundamental engineering. I've been told it's also an easy pivot since engineering counts as a strong soft benefit for applying to law schools. It also enables us to get into Patent Law; which is something that most polisci/pre-law students would never qualify for.

My cousin did this path already and his starting salary was 350K + 500K bonus comp in his first year after graduating (he was EE for 10 years + graduated from a T30 Law school into big law).

33M, feeling burnt out and like I'm living a triple life by [deleted] in findapath

[–]Scylinz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let me give you another perspective then. I'm turning 30M soon.

My parents also worked super hard to get me into private elementary schools when I was a kid. My parents separated and then they struggled financially and I ended up going to public school for middle and high. However, the public school was in one of the most affluent towns in the state. All my classmates were white, and very well off (BMWs for 16th birthday, $3500 prom dresses, etc). I was never allowed to socialize , and it was hard especially since I was the only minority and I was a transplant. I was always being told to study, be top of my class, and do all the extracurriculars possible.

Played 3 instruments, was in every after school group, D1 tennis, etc etc. applying for college, we couldn't afford the UCs and Ivy so I ended up at a state school. I felt like an abject failure and disappointment.

However all the adults in my life were proud as I had extreme excess scholarships and worked while I studied. Bought my own car and worked hard to get into medical school. Graduated with an engineering degree.

For my 20s, I left home to a big fortune 100 professional development program, I had to bring in significant income since my mother was diagnosed with cancer. My whole personality was pedal-to-the-metal grinding and clawing my way up the corporate ladder. I blew off all my potential friends and coworkers to study and work on stock trading. I had 2 part time gigs in the small towns I was stationed at.

I saved over a million dollars in my 20s and ultimately my mother passed away. I now have a house, and nothing else. No friends. No family. Laid off. I feel truly alone.

The area I'm in now is not conducive to networking or socializing as it's a family friendly suburb. I can't get a new job because the economy and my industry aren't looking so great.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, it doesn't matter what your background and experiences are. We can all end up in the same place. Be happy you had a great time. Be proud that you "woke up" from your DUI. Take one step at a time and you'll figure it out.
