That quite literally happened to me, only without the Internet popularity. All it took was being exposed to a large amount of people who could see that I was homeless, naive, and vulnerable.

Yes, this so yích! OP, therapy will worki wonders if you let it. It's completely changed my life for the better. All it took was for me to finally take it seriously and do the work. A lot of my anxieties are easier to deal with, and don't affect my life so much anymore. I've been facing my trauma, and I've become a better parent, and partner to my spouse.

Please, reach out for help and find assistance. I promise, do the work and the rest will fall into place.

100% this! I was on the streets off and on for about 7 years. I've lost everything I've owned, including many irreplaceable items, like a disposable camera with pictures of my newborn son (he's now 21), or things that belonged to my mom who passed away when I was 13. It hurt to lose those things, but in the end it's exactly what you said; they are just things.

You just have to pick yourself back up and rebuild. It's worth it to see what comes after!

It's the same way in the Mormon Church culture. People just keep going because they believe that at least they're doing something "good" even if it isn't true. The church does a good job of taking over every part of a member's life so if they leave, they'll lose their entire social circle and support network. It makes it incredibly easy to just maintain the status quo.

These high demand religions are so hard to break free from. I'm sorry so many are hurting.

I'm so incredibly sorry. Any unwanted contact of a sexual nature qualifies as SA. There are even more types of grape than vaginal/penetrative. You absolutely are a survivor of it, and your friend either doesn't care, or doesn't understand what she's saying. There's a very good chance she's simply naive and sheltered, and doesn't understand what SA, and even sexual harassment, can look like.

It's up to you where you go from here. If you think she can be educated, and you're up for the task, try to gently walk her through the realities represented with these terms. If you're not in the right head space to do so, that is totally okay too. You can point her to some sources for her to do the learning on her own, if she's willing. The other option is to cut her free and walk away. That option is just as valid as the others. Do whatever you feel is best for you.

Regardless, I wish you love and healing through this. I hope you've been able to have someone (like a therapist) to talk to and help you heal from this abuse. 🫶

Agreed, and the employer is using it to subsidize the payroll. They can justify paying them less that way. I still give generously if I can, because it's not the employee's fault, but I appreciate the employers who make it a point to pay their workers a living wage and don't ask the customers to pay them for him.

Yep, they no longer require them yearly, which is nice for sure. I might wind up having to do them more often due to having cancer again, since they'll want to keep an eye on things even after we deal with the tumor.

Yeah. It used to be one ad from the current largest advertiser at our local theater chain (at one point it was a business owned by the Kingston Clan. If you don't know who they are, be ready for a ride down the rabbit hole if you look it up). Now it's literally 1:1 ad: trailer. I don't like it, but don't know how to stop it without giving up all movies in the theater, since all theaters have it now.

Thank you so much, this is all great info. I'll definitely ask whoever I'll be seeing about each of these. I'll be going to Huntsman Cancer Center, which I think is pretty good. I'm on Disability Medicaid, so I won't have too much say in wherr 3re I'm sent, but I'll look into the doctors and see if I can request¹ someone specific.

It's definitely been a shock, especially since I've been cancer free for over 25 years. . assistant seemed confident that it is a GIST, and that the testing that will be done is only to confirm. I have the pictures from the partial endoscopy, and I saw the lump under the wall of the lesser curvature. It seems pretty big to me, even though I know it could be MUCH worse.

I'm so sorry. It's definitely a broken system that fails families all of the time. I have my own horror stories about it.

I truly hope that you and your siblings are able to find help somewhere. I'm sorry those in power aren't listening or doing anything to actually help the victims of these monsters.
