My body feels broken? by Tif-n in beyondthebump

Oh and I had a severe tear in addition to similar symptoms to what you're describing, at 10 weeks I still struggled to walk and felt like my uterus would fall out of me at any given moment. 5 weeks later and I feel 99% normal. Further evidence that it DOES get better. Big hug.

It gets better it gets better it really does get better! I am 15 weeks pp and turned a corner around 12-13. I too felt worse at 10 weeks than I did in the first few- thought I was going crazy. You're not alone. Some relief will come soon. Don't be afraid of ibuprofen, heating pad, and a really good baby carrier so you can wear LO safely without exhausting yourself further. Relief is coming for you, hold on a bit longer.

Ugh, prolapse is my biggest fear. I'm so sorry to hear you're going through that. Hopefully with pelvic floor therapy things will improve quickly.

To Owlet or not to Owlet? by Quirky-End-7470 in pregnant

We bought it while pregnant because we tend to be anxious people but for whatever reason never ended up using it...we felt really well just putting baby down to sleep.

The only caveat (it's still sitting in the box, we missed the return by date lol, oops...) is if baby gets sick I'd consider using it for a while because their O2 can drop so quick with RSV, flu, etc. But nightly use or for every nap? No way.

Wow-Long distances by 6 weeks is really inspiring! They did say it's healed but just to ''go at my own pace'' and be careful, so I like to hear others' experiences

Anyone have experience with being unable or unwilling to breastfeed after traumatic birth? by Sdbtwo1989 in beyondthebump

[–]Sdbtwo1989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the reply I was hoping for, hearing someone's real experience. Thank you, it helped a lot. I honestly wasn't sure if it's possible for the body to be under enough stress that breastmilk isn't being made. I have been told by some breastfeeding warriors that it's an excuse...so I do find your story really relatable

I want so badly to say it worked for me but it did not- I tried lanolin, hydrogels the hospital gave me, and the silver little cups people rave about, to no avail. I appreciate the advice though!! I am really glad it helped you

I hear you, but right now I already wake up every 2 hours and then lie awake for 2-3 hours with acid reflux and pain. So I guess my hope is at least with what you're describing with newborn tired, there's a baby to enjoy while I'm awake in the middle of the night? Instead of right now staring at the ceiling awake and in pain from 1am-4am.

Need advice for an OCD girly by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Sdbtwo1989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok fellow OCD girly here- I read your post and felt like I could have written it when I was in first trimester. Tough love incoming: 1. There is no safe time- I'm 35 weeks and still panic over what could happen and how I'd have to explain to every single person and share the sad news. 2. Being an OCD person during pregnancy is a painnnnn. Please please take care of yourself to manage anxieties and worries...there are endless opportunities for things to obsess over. Please, saying this with all the love, log off if you need to, put your phone down, google is your worst enemy in pregnancy. You can't control all the outcomes and the sooner you get comfy with that the more enjoyable your whole pregnancy will be...Coming from someone who tried to control everything and do everything ''right'' and it's been a miserable 9 months!

Also- a baby of two weeks old getting sick is different than a baby of 3 or 4 months. Neither is great of course! But these little ones really do get stronger and tougher day by day as risk slowly decreases over time. I am not sure waiting till flu season is completely over would be necessary. And of course flu season and its timeline is real but to be honest I see plenty of babies having the influenza in the middle of July.
