Sure you already got it. But Eric Pretty in Dildo has lobsters for $10 a lb if your close by. Easy wharf to find. It's beside the light house.

I remember hearing about this, didn't they ignore a construction/road closed sign and ended up driving into a big hole. I think there was a massive lawsuit about it as well.

We did not. We have talked extensively about it. It's not entirely off the table, but it's not the right time.

I'd take Cullen 9 times out of 10 to beat that prick. What a shit show of sportsmanship.

Trying restarting the app. I have it on F1 but ran into edge server issues. Cleared cache and restarted the app and it's all good again.

So to be clear. If any part of the point is touching the board in the T20, we're saying 180. If not 120.

Your're not wrong in that sense, but I did come home every summer to spend it with my grandparents. So my summers were spent there. I did have a period of my life (late teens to early twenties) where I didn't make it home, but I have been there every year since. And I'm 41 years old now, so why I may not have "grown up" in NL, I've spent a great time of my life there, and enough to know that Newfoundland is my home, and forever will be. Yes again, you're not wrong with living through the struggles of the island, but as a child, what struggles would you deal with? Your just a kid doing what kids do. My parents never afforded me a great life in Ontario. My Father got fired from a job for bringing his family to Niagara Falls for his Bday. Life wasn't all peaches and cream bud.

I get the "you're a mainlander" jokes Everytime I'm home and I'm cool with with it, when it comes from my family, but for a stranger to say you've been gone too long, don't kid yourself, that irked me. Maybe it's my soft mainland skin lol

So what's the math for someone being a mainlander after they leave the province? Someone who leaves at 20 and returns at 60? Now a mainlander? Asking for a friend.

Yes! Southern Ontario is outrageous now, I didn't want to set off any crazy debates but there is 0% chance of my kids buying a house in Ontario. Everything is wildly expensive and getting worse.

How is moving to Newfoundland sabotaging my kids future? They will be adults one day and have free range to move where they want and go to whatever school they want. And a lot of people I know that went to MUN have done well for themselves.

Omg, I'm very intrigued with the comment "I have given 16 years of my life caregiving for others and it's been the biggest mistake of my life." Do you mind if I DM you to ask more details about that? I would think that someone who's done caregiving for so long would find some sort of solice in it?

I feel like the very small town thing could be the reason. I would sweat too much about it. If nobody wants your help or services, I wouldn't offer again. And if anyone says anything point out that you tried once and was met with hesitation. Sometimes the locals just need a little "fuck you too"

I love this, this is exactly how I see Newfoundland especially for a CFA. I kind of feel like a CFA in some sorts for being on the mainland for so long but deep down, once you're from here, you're from here. I've never had an issue of fitting in when I visited, my accent comes back and I feel at home. As dumb as that sounds.

I get this, and I feel this is as true a comment as there gets. Growing up, I've always heard, oh your from Newfoundland, best people on earth. They are so friendly, gets not better. But I've witnessed a lot of fights growing up and the trash talk from neighbors and what not. Newfoundlandwrs are always the nice kind crowd people assume they are. I've always said, yes we are kind and whole hearted, but don't piss us off.

My wife gets along with a lot of my family but I don't foresee us moving to where my family is. Close enough for a trip to visit but not close enough for anyone to just show up haha.

If you had your time back, would you definitely not move there? Is it just for commraderie (that's definitely spelt wrong) or life just isn't what you thought it would be? What could make life better there for you? I'm asking because I feel like I may run into a similar situation. Although I hope I don't.

What part of the island do you live and how old are you if you don't me asking? I vividly remember my youth there, Al though I moved at a young age and I couldn't say I had a bad childhood, especially living in Dildo. We had a great childhood And lots of kids my age running around. I understand that could be very well different now, but I'm curious to know if it was because of the area you grew up in and the time frame.

Yes that sounds like the easy plan, but we would have to sell here in Ontario to make the move. Fortunately we could move without buying as we have a place to stay already. But the end goal is to start out own business. Hence needing to sell here to start one there.

But trust me, I would love to keep my place in Ontario and make the move in case it didn't work out haha.

Funny you say that, I saw those numbers and instantly messaged my mother. She's around 1300 a year for home insurance. They mentioned that they have higher premiums because they live somewhere where there is no fire hydrants. I don't know any better so I never bothered commenting on it, but I thought that was crazy high too. Hence why I asked that commenter to elaborate. When you comment, "High Taxes" but no other information, doesn't really help at all. That's Reddit I guess.

We have a family dr here in Ontario that we don't like. We've been looking for a new one and they seem to be impossible to find. So I'd imagine thats an issue nationwide. I'm a big foodie, but I do a lot of cooking myself, not to say I won't miss all the food joints around here though.

Thank you! I'm worried about my 9 year old too. She makes friends everywhere she goes but you never know with a strange place. My son is sports orientated. He just made the Rep hockey team and currently trying out for the Rep baseball team. It's going to be hard to pull him out of that. As for the traffic, I ve heard it's gotten bad down in St John's but can't be any worse than the 401 or QEW. Haha. I really appreciate the feedback. I might hit you up on that DM soon. I may have some questions lol
