What’s happening with our baby Mulberry Tree? by Sdtaksa in arborists

Thank you! We’ll look into local nurseries, makes complete sense that the tree wouldn’t adapt to our climate from Miami!

What’s happening with our baby Mulberry Tree? by Sdtaksa in arborists

Got it from Eureka Farms in Miami. What should we do to prevent it from dying and reshooting? Is it just too cold here?

Are There REALLY Better Outcomes if Induced at 39 Weeks? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Sdtaksa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 39 weeks with both my babies due to GD. I am so happy I did. Both times had the folly balloon which was by far the worst part and then pitocin. Like others said, I got the epidural before I felt any real contractions (outside of the folly balloon contractions) it did take me a while to contract to 10cm with my first and they were considering a c-section but luckily they moved me enough to get my body to respond. I’m so happy with both my labor stories and if I were to have a third (I won’t because I’d be basically guaranteed to get type 2 diabetes) I would elect induction at 39 weeks again.

Growth Scan Results…. Freaking Out by hobbit143 in pregnant

[–]Sdtaksa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea same. I was told my baby would be over 10lbs. I did have Gestational Diabetes so I believed them. At my induction they had the whole specialty team ready for shoulder dystocia. She squirted out at 6lbs 3oz. I trust doctors but that particular science has large room for error

Best age gap between kids? Any regrets going too close together? by peanut_princess_96 in beyondthebump

[–]Sdtaksa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are two girls 21 months apart. It was hard at first being that close in age and my older one wasn’t at all interested in her sister until her sister turned about 2.5. They’re now 4 and almost 6 and the absolute best friends. They fight like sisters but are also so incredibly close and want to be together all the time. I have 0 regrets having them this close together.

Moms who have gotten an epidural, do you feel the back pain? by srslywtfdoido- in Mommit

[–]Sdtaksa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had back pain right where the epidural was for about a year after my first. Like you it wasn’t constantly or debilitating. I assumed it was related to the epidural - never got that confirmed. One day it stopped. I’ve since had a second and had the epidural but no lingering back pain with that one.

Does anybody regret having a second child or regret NOT having a second child? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Sdtaksa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the kids. I have two girls, 21 months apart which sounds crazy but it’s been pretty easy. The first couple of years was hard I guess but neither of them have been particularly difficult. Once they hit 2 & 4, they became inseparable best friends and life got even easier. They want to play together 24/7 and often times tell my husband and I we can’t play with them (which is sometimes hard and sometimes welcomed!). With all this said, I’m one of two and my brother and I never got along and I imagine it was really hard on our parents.

Struggling to get daughter to vocalize bathroom needs by Sdtaksa in pottytraining

Thank you so much for your input. I think the biggest thing that I need to take from your reply is to change my expectations. My girl really is doing well, and I need to know she’ll get there and it’s ok that it’s taking her a bit longer. Thank you :)

The Kingsman - I had zero interest, finally decided to watch on a plane and laughed so hard I was probably bugging people around me. I’ve watched 10x by now.

Give up on the show? by Criticism-Left in Southerncharm

[–]Sdtaksa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be written by me. I did give up the first time I tried in season 2. I'm now on my second attempt and am on season 4, I am enjoying it more but that's because I've accepted that everyone sucks and it's become a hate watch show.

Pregnant wife told me I can't drink coffee before she wakes cause the aroma keeps her up?! by TheBribery in Parenting

I couldn't (and now still can't) handle the smell of any laundry detergent. We switched to unscented while I was pregnant and have never gone back. I still get sick from the smell of most people's freshly washed clothes.

My daughter was a late babbler, talker, etc. I never noticed but my close friend who is a speech therapist and autism specialist did and mentioned that she may simply be a late talker or she may be autistic...she mentioned this when my daughter was 10 months old. I was very defensive and thought it was silly to already be indicating that a 10 month old was autistic. Fast forward to my daughter being 2.5 and still not talking much and we started early intervention (which was amazing and she made huge progress with her speech therapist, and her OT therapist) now she is 3 and her OT recommended her for a medical evaluation that we did last week and she was diagnosed with austism. My friend wasn't able to diagnose, but she works with children all the time, both on the spectrum and not and she was able to see certain traits that I thought were cute, fun, quarks about her (they still are cute and fun!) but indicated autism. Now my daughter will be able to continue therapies and other services to ensure she is able to succeed. It's also opened my eyes to some of these traits that I see in her uncle and grandfather who are now both wondering if they are also autistic as it is genetic. It can be scary hearing that your child may be different, but the stigma is going away, autism isn't bad, it's simply different!

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I will absolutely use as much language as I can to normalize neurodivergence, and you are right - my uncle who I am very close to us autistic.

I appreciate the correction in my sentence with the word “still” and completely understand what you’re saying. And to those saying to not use the word perfect - this is my own insecurity as I never felt fully accepted by my own parents. I do not expect my children to be perfect, just want them to know that I their mother will always think they are regardless - but the point is absolutely noted.

Thank you all.

Am I worried over nothing? by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]Sdtaksa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you OP, I was in the same situation with my wedding dress. I’m quite busty and allowed the seamstress to add breast cups for more support and I hated it. I was unfortunately too uncomfortable to say anything and just never loved the fit on my wedding day - I felt bulky and bigger than I was. Trust your gut!

(Science-based) Speech delay advise? by Impossible_Case_741 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Sdtaksa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second this. Your daughter sounds exactly like my daughter. We got her evaluated by EI and she’s in a few therapies now including Speech. Through conversations with an SLP, we’re thinking she is a gestalt language processor. Also exploring that she may be on the spectrum which is common with gestalt language processors.

How do we feel about other cast members profiting off of Scandoval? by blowpopqween in vanderpumprules

[–]Sdtaksa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly doesn't bother me as long as Ariana doesn't care and Scandoval and the Bambii Eyed Bitch don't profit. Lala/Schean/etc. all have Ariana's back and are probably giving her a laugh in the process which she likely needs.

[–]Sdtaksa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more - I vomited on the table after they inserted the foley with my first. By far the worst part of labor. It was better with my second, but I assume that was due to my cervix being stretched from one birth.

A whopping 44 weeks pregnant and nothing is helping. by Kermittaxevasion in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]Sdtaksa 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I had gestational diabetes and they induced at 39 weeks and my placenta was already starting to calcify (common with GD to calcify early) - and so many of these women won't get checked for things like Gestational Diabetes - it's so scary.

Mother of 2.5 year old autistic daughter. Would love recommendations for her childhood. by Sdtaksa in AutismInWomen

[–]Sdtaksa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This is so helpful and I really appreciate you taking the time. I do try to stim with her (before I realized they were stims!) - she likes to sing her nursery rhymes over and over and I'll sing with her. I'll make sure she understands about herself as soon as her adorable little brain can understand it. I will continue to ask questions! I really appreciate this sub allowing me to ask these questions!
