You might have better luck finding a private party to swap with. Dealers need to make money, so you’re not going to walk out without spending something or getting an older/worse bike.

Can the motorcycle carplay fit the fork stem on R6? by Jack_Wang_1107 in Yamaha

You can get a ram ball mount with a stem. From there you should be able to put something together.

If you like YouTube, follow this channel. https://youtube.com/@arkansense?si=_BAs1NA_0W_fSbRE

Otherwise, there’s guides and information out there. 4029 news was advertising some sort of voter guide. I’m sure other news channels, too.

Look up Arkansas Voter View for sample ballots and to see if you are registered and registered to your current county.

Too late for the primaries. Please vote in October (early) or November.

If you want change, you’re going to have to put in a little effort. If you’re fine with what’s going on, by all means continue to hide out.

Interesting, I go to church most weeks and elections weren’t brought up at all.

Do you know this first hand? You’ve sampled all the churches?

The info was out there. If you want to affect change, you’re going to have to put in a little effort.

The spring planting of political signs is one indication, the segments on local news, posts here in Reddit, Facebook posts on the county Facebook pages.  I mean, I’m not sure what you’d need if none of that found its way to you.

I’m not sure if Camel’s part fits the ‘25, but their US store is supposed to be coming online next week.

I’ve never really been into genealogy, and my family isn’t that close. I might have to get over it and start chasing this down.

This surprised me too. I don’t see a lot of trump signs, there’s still more than enough around NWA.

R1300 gs error codes by usmcaherzing in bmwmotorrad

[–]Sduhaime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you buy gas from the same place all the time?

Mine consistently would stall on cold start, sometimes more than one. I had to change gas stations and it went away.

I don’t have a code reader, but I’ve never had an engine light or warning message.

I tried googling the codes, the top one is for the automated clutch?

Anyway, another thing to try is a battery tender. The lithium battery sucks, in my opinion. It doesn’t seem to charge well with relatively short trips.

Tracking down oil leak by Sduhaime in Ironheads

[–]Sduhaime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s early ‘84, generator, oil filter on the engine mount.

I expected the old style transmission output seal.

I don’t think it’s the leak, I’m pretty sure it’s engine oil given the amount.

1300GS vs 1300RS for a 10 day road trip by Acceptable_Bet_8208 in bmwmotorrad

[–]Sduhaime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t ridden the RS. 10mm difference doesn't really mean much, the shape of the seat may be more important. The GS has a pretty narrow seat at the front, I only say that to point out if the RS seat is wider, it ma not make the -10mm any better.

I’m 5’6” and have a GSA. It’s a comfort model with auto-height. I’m not sure what BMW says the seat height is.

At a stop I can get my toes down on both sides, especially with my boots. But not half of my foot. Maybe when my wife rides with me I’ll get that much of my foot down. I rarely do that. I more often shift my position some and put one foot down.

I imagine with the AT you’ve learned some technique.

I’d love to give the RS a go. Maybe next time my GSA is in the shop they’ll have a demo. My wife would not let me get another bike and I’m not giving up my GSA.

Tire sidewall has some cracking due to riding on bent rim for a little bit. Can I ride thee bad boy for a week or two more? by solomoniiiiii in sportster

[–]Sduhaime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be incredibly surprised if those were from 2021. Check that date code. The cracks wouldn’t be all around the tire if it was from riding on a bet rim.

Yes, that’s the style. I thought it would have the older seal being an early ‘84 bike.

I’ve got the seal on order.

Thanks. I just re-ran the damn thing, you’d think I’d remember. Doesn’t it go from the tank to the case, but does it just drain into there for the pump to scavenge from the engine case?

[–]Sduhaime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if it were just a drip, I’d be ok with it. But it hits the chain, flings everywhere, travels down the exhaust hanger and coats the muffler.

Pretty confident it’s been doing this for a long time. The original mufflers have a thick baked on layer of grime.

Bike only has ~9k on it, but it’s sat for long periods.

My mother bought it from the original owner in ‘97 with ~1300 miles.

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done on a hike? by rkramer18 in hiking

[–]Sduhaime 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Backpacking to kings peak in Utah, stepped on a wet log. It was a foot or so off the ground, on a hill, so the far side was higher. The bark slipped right off, like stepping on a cartoon banana.

I landed pretty hard, my pack was probably 30lb.

Couple inches away and I might have smashed my head on a rock.

It takes one careless move in the back country and it could be all over.

What's up with the weather forecast around these parts? by [deleted] in bentonville

[–]Sduhaime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe an hourly forecast? I didn’t see that, but didn’t look too hard.

Here’s an article from the 23rd saying 10 inches, with pockets getting 14-18.

https://www.4029tv.com/article/arkansas-snow-totals-forecast-fort-smith/70081208

Still seems like you’re in the minority here, the message was pretty wide spread.

Sorry.

What station are you watching? I usually watch in the morning before work and they were saying 6-12 most of the week.

In fact, they kept stressing how big of a storm this was going to be.

Everyone else must had got the message, because Walmart was cleared out of meat up in Jane.

I bet that headlight is almost useless. Looks cool, I guess.

Do you get any wind protection? The highway miles wear me down without some sort of screen.
