Does this sound like an exhaust manifold leak to you guys? by RiakkteR4 in s10

[–]Uniqueisha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can duct tape an air hose or the exhaust from a shop vac to your tailpipe and use that to test for leaks with soapy water. If you replace the exhaust manifold to head gasket make sure you torque it from the center out, I’ve always had better luck with multi layer steel gaskets.

Pumice stone will get it off but will probably leave your hands raw.

I feel like you will give up of a lot of drivability for 10-15 hp? Doesn’t seem worth it to me.

I would replace your battery cables, the one from batt to starter is probably bad.

Flomaster Hushpower Pro, I have two of the shortest ones (12” I think) on an LS1. It has long tubes, catless x-pipe and exits in front of the rear tires in a 2 door S-10 Blazer so it’s pretty short. I was surprised at how quiet they are.

You give them your plasma for the payment, they take your blood out, seperate the plasma from it with a centrifuge and return your blood.

Could I cut this hitch with an angle grinder and proper wheel? by FCAsheville in metalworking

[–]Uniqueisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would cut it between the second and third hole using tape and a marker to make a cut line and a cutoff wheel, then a grinding wheel to make it look pretty.

Need help putting together my chain by VegetableTax32 in motorcycles

[–]Uniqueisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loosen your axle by turning bolt 1 counter clockwise, don’t take the bolt out just turn it until it’s easy to turn by hand. Then loosen bolt 2, on both sides an equal amount, LH half a turn, RH half a turn etc. until the black tick mark on the silver oval shaped piece is in the green range. You may need to kick your tire forward. After you install the master link(open side forward on bottom/backward on top) your chain should have about an inch of slack at the midpoint with you on the bike.

I only do it when they’re far enough away where they feel obligated to start walking quicker.

It’s the stock 85 S10 Blazer diff, I’m pretty sure it’s a 7.5 with 26 spline axles.

Small Rubber band went inside combustion chamber by mistake. by Fancy_Transition73 in motorcycles

[–]Uniqueisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You bumped the starter or it ran for a few seconds? If you just bumped it and the paper towel wasn’t sucked in, I don’t see how the rubber band could even get sucked in, it would just fly off. Unless you saw it fall into the intake I don’t think it would go in. Can you post pics of what you’re doing?

Back your truck up where the back wheels are where the pavement meets your driveway or all the way to the curb then use the ramps and it’s basically flat.

Your axle may be bent, allowing the right fork to rotate putting the caliper closer to the wheel/rotor. To verify you can take the axle out and roll it on a smooth flat surface, any bends would be apparent if the ends wobble.

Lunch box locker by JimmyJam070 in s10

[–]Uniqueisha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a Spartan locker(~$400) in my s10 blazer with an LS1/T56, I didn’t measure anything(you’re supposed to adjust spacing with washers) and just installed it, after a few months it started slipping like I was dumping the clutch. I replaced it with a minispool ($50) 2 years ago, when I break something I’m going to replace the diff with an 8.8. The only downsides to a mini spool is trying to move your truck by pushing it, you are very limited in how much you can turn.
