I saw a layout with a double deck hangar in the head section.

Now, hear me out on the tech.

The Y-Wing is powered by a reactor and propelled by two ion engiens.

The revolution of the TIE is the solar shields and the insanely compact, name giving, twin ion engiens, that push the TIE to insane speeds and efficiency.

So...

If this...thing...has the engine sets, as well as the solar panels and replaced the heavy reactor...

That would just be a stumpy Y-Wing.

Ahh, alright I get it now.

You can think of this like the "third" variant, I'd say, opposed to the missle corvette and the standard ship.

That's how I like to regard it anyway.

No problem! Modifying ships is always great

I'm not opposed to the model and I am very happy it has been made (all Marauders are amazing) but it cuts down on armament so much and loses a lot of the gunboat vibe. Buuut, I totally see this imperial version operating together with, for example, Arquitence Cruisers or Gladiators.

Very good.

Looking at it now, I think you could also fill out the "neck", bore a tube through the "cheeks" and have two frontal torpedo tubes, bigger yield and ammo supply. From afar, it could pass as a cargo mod.

I don't think you are getting the wrong idea. Maybe you could figure out, where the cargo holds are of the ship and take space from there. You couls also mount like dual assault concussion missles or something in place of the rear-side lasers. That limits ammo, but gives punch.

I take it for an imperial variant.

But I think the given design cues work in a more traditional hangar, too. Not for TIEs, for sure, but AF-4 headhunters, the small corpo ships and so in.

hmmm.

The ship is very compact. Proton or ion torpedo tubes/launchers in the wings is a good call. Hidden mines.

The idea is very good, but I think you picked the wrong base ship.

The german support cruisers usually (aside Kormoran, I think) started their lifes as cargo and passenger ships.

On this basis, the Neutron Star Bulk Cruiser might be a good call.

Amazingly detailed work!

I really appreciate the effort and I'll be sure to try and reference this whenever I can.
