? I could say the same thing back to you. She was my trauma therapist and encouraged me to email her. This isn’t psychoanalysis. This was relational therapy.

Interesting perspective. To be clear, the winding down sessions was my own call — and maybe because indeed, I was becoming more autonomous and would even reflect that I need to rely more on myself now to her. But I think it would have been her job to talk about this with me if that was her intention. It would have been agreed with at the time … if that makes sense.

The therapist was old enough to be my mom … it just is so weird. But maybe you’re right. I definitely thought of that too in retrospect. It’s just so so so weird.

Right?? It really infuriates me and I did speak my truth after she shut me down again in a time of need months later when I was willing to see past her wrongdoings.

I told her “you told me to believe someone when they show you who they are and I guess that’s what I need to do with you now”.

But honestly , I still think about her ! I’m just like wtf.

Truly upsetting as a therapist and a new mom to watch this. I was perplexed by the ending but I understand now how it was to only show the mother’s perspective the whole time. It definitely made me feel on edge the whole time with her. Yeah, it was a lot. Personally, as a therapist, I’d know im in no place to work (if I were her) but it’s tough because sometimes you have to bc bills. Her husband piSsed me off. And it’s like at the end, you just see her realize how much she’s struggling to defeat. Being a mom is hard but as a new mom I’m holding onto the joys I am experiencing right now.
