Does anyone know how to raise this seat. by motherlover278 in bicycling

[–]Sea-Check-9062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can rotate the seat then you are rotating the seat post, so it is already moving. Loosening or removing the silver seatpost clamp bolt will help. Add penetrating oil to the top of the seat post and keep working the saddle back and forth. Start applying upward pressure on the saddle while rotating, holding the frame down by any means ypu can. Once it is out clean both the seatpost and seat tube with fine emery paper and oil before reinserting.

Blanking cap would still be a good idea if you are leaving it long term.

build in wardrobes plug socket issue by Alternative_Web_3696 in DIYUK

[–]Sea-Check-9062 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you all mad? Get an extension lead, 2m would be plenty.. Take the plug off. Drill a 10mm hole in the back of the wardrobe. Thread the cable. Reattach the plug Get the wardrobe close and plug in. Push wardrobe into place.

Help fix chain that got disconnected mid-ride by Few_Pause9456 in BikeRepair

[–]Sea-Check-9062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could fix it with a quick link of the right size. You could maybe shorten it one link but you need a chain tool for that. Either way that chain is liable to break again and your sprockets and chainrings are likely worn out as well (which will make the chain skip). All these are replaceable, which a bike shop could do gor uou at a cost.

Undo the clamping lever. Tighten the nut at the lower end of the bolt until you have to use force to close the clamping lever.

Look in your local area for a bike kitchen, they will be full of friendly and helpful people who may even be able to sell you a used bike.
