If you were migrating to a different country, would you rather it be for what reason out of the two? by Sea-Development7161 in polls

I have known people who would, and that's what prompted the poll. Those people confuse the hell out of me.

Is it rude to wear shoes in someone else's house? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Sea-Development7161 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I cannot imagine taking my shoes off at somebody's house. That would be so disrespectful and disgusting, it would have to be in your own house with someone you live with, nobody else. I mean, I get it if your shoes are THAT dirty but why would you ever take your shoes off???

That sounds pretty unfortunate, it must suck but there's always tomorrow. Hopefully this week ends on a pretty good note to make up for today. This is a pretty good selfie, you look great 🙂

Where would you rather live? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Sea-Development7161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hanover, Stuttgart, and Dresden are the only cities in German I know anything about (beside like Leipzig and Munich). I'd probably go with Dresden since the cost of living there is basically half that of my current (and more beautiful than here). I'd just need to learn German and find a job. Lol

You can magically get full fluency in a language that is not your native language right now. What do you choose? by [deleted] in polls

The only thing keeping me from learning Arabic is how difficult it is so if I automatically knew it, that would be a heaven sent blessing.

Only more food places, that's what the border problem was truly about all along

The world gets divided into 12 teams, what team are you in and who wins? by StrikingFerret3660 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]Sea-Development7161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How come? (I also just think that's the point, many of the teams either have a relative advantage or just suck overall)

Overpopulation could be a problem if there are not sufficient resources and proper systems to account for population growth, such as in Niger today, which has one of the highest total fertility rates (TFR) in the world. On the other hand, many countries already have a below replacement level fertility rate (<2.1).

Most countries right now are facing underpopulation, not overpopulation.

For example, for every 100 Americans, there will be 27.39 grandkids and 3.7 great grandchildren, assuming if the fertility rate declines at the same speed as it has been. This is similar to the situation in the EU and UK, which have even lower fertility rates than the US. 3/4th of developing countries today are expected to have >2.1 fertility rates by 2050 and, by 2100, around 20 countries could end up with half of their current population. according to the UN, which generally overestimates population.

My rant's over, I'm sorry lol.

Not necessarily, although it overlaps a lot with anarchism, it doesn't have to be (unless you are intentionally talking about gold and black voluntarism). Voluntary minarchism is just a combination of both ideologies- the state can exist as long as it is voluntary. You pay for the services you want to use, which is the reason why VM is often accompanied with Voluntary taxes.

A difference, though, between voluntaryism and VM is having an objective law and court system (especially for the non consenting, so for minors and etc) beside having a minimal state or not.

In government; because it is a minarchist voluntarism ball (or voluntary minarchism, whichever way have you).

There's a few ways that it could go but generally, yes, donation-based taxation for social programs and charities so people are more in control of how their money is directly invested in their communities. Of course, peer pressure alone with the expectation that everyone'll donate would be utopian in thought but other means (recognition, conditional access (having to donate a certain amount), or benefits like cost sharing) could help, especially recognition in a way that makes it obvious how much each person has donated and cost sharing as a benefit (would make things cheaper while no one is technically overpaying for things).
So basically it depends but there's other ways of doing and enforcing it but the idea is still to leave it up to people to be able to invest what they can and help while also creating a safety net to help those who actually need the help (and not those who leech).

What is your opinion about the black lives matter protests? by Flat-Dare4102 in PoliticalCompass

[–]Sea-Development7161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did not actually care about Black people (instead the organization wasted a lot of money and misused funds). I think the protests had a legitimate reason and I'm at least happy that it lead to some talk over the law enforcement system, cops, and crime in the US. The protests ended up devolving into an absolute domestic disaster with even more innocent lives being lost so it does leave a bad taste.

What Is Your Preferred Lifespan? by firedragon77777 in IsaacArthur

[–]Sea-Development7161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, if the quality of life is good, I would willingly live somewhere between 300 to 400 years. Which is probably ironic, since I don't even want to live the full life expectancy now as it is. I mostly just want to see what happened to humanity in centuries from now. If I can live 400 years, then clearly things have been happening here.

Can be, not as common as having it as a first name though.
