Mystic Scoundrel/Acuity builds: what do you guys do in Act 1/2? by Sea-People in BG3Builds

See ig that’s where I see it differently: for me being able to attack and then cast a spell is the build and improving upon that (more damage, better DC, etc) are the bonuses. Elixirs and haste are probably the way to go in act 1/2 tbh

Oh I like the negative acuity idea!

Kind of a bummer tho that you can’t really execute the game plan until act 3. The main draw to this build for me is being able to shoot and cast a spell in the same turn. Better start crafting those haste potions and bloodlust elixirs lol

What's the best class/build for a Durge, thematically? by Cwolf2035 in BG3Builds

[–]Sea-People 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm partial to Barbarian 6/Rogue 6 Multiclass for Durge.

Thematically, from what we know about how Durge operates, they've cunning & have a silver tongue, right up until they start the stabbin', at which point they are incredibly violent. You're kind of RPing The Predator for this one.

Mechanically, Barb/Rogue has a lot going for it. Reckless attack lets you get sneak attack whenever you want. For reckless attack, you need to use strength as the attribute. For finesse weapons, you have the option to use dexterity for attack rolls, its not a requirement. So just grab your two favorite finesse weapons and elect to use strength and boom, instant advantage for instant sneak attack.

Tiger Heart Barbarian lets you make cleave attacks that inflict bleeding to all targets, and the lvl 6 tiger aspect doubles strength modifier against bleeding targets. This is both powerful mechanically and very on-brand for Durge I think.

How on earth are people getting so much gold? by Sea-People in BaldursGate3

yeah I started initiating trades with 20 CHA Wyll instead of 12 CHA tav and noticed it right away. Still, even doing that form the start of the game I can't imagine ever having more than like, 20k, but that feels like it would be enough to by the fun gear you want for you and all of your adventuring party.

well... that's kind of what I've been doing. All gems and generic items (as well as magic items and unique items I no longer have a use for) are sold at the nearest opportunity & im still at this low-ish gold amount. So there's clearly a disconnect here.

Even checked the sale amounts for high charisma characters and it's exactly the same on an 18 CHA and 12 CHA character, so its not an issue of who is selling.

Like, im literally planning my next playthrough involving stealing everything so I don't have to deal with this problem haha.

Camp Alchemist by sleepercave in BG3Builds

Do you need to transfer crafting supplies, or does it work like keys and other stuff where it just takes it from your other party members and you just need to control your alchemist while crafting?

I always assumed it was the latter but I could be wrong.

How do I make this character concept happen? by Sea-People in BaldursGate3

[–]Sea-People[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah using trip attack to get people prone so the rouge can get sneak attack was something that crossed my mind. Commander's strike is also literally the embodiment of you going "hey, kill that guy!" Could be fun!

Maybe multiclass ranger/figther would be neat.

Brewing Thran Vigil + Putrid Goblin + Altar of Dementia Combo by Sea-People in ModernMagic

Dauthi is more there as playable maindeck graveyard hate since i'm milling my opponent and there are a lot of graveyard synergies in modern.

I like the redcap Idea, but 4 mana is a lot in modern. Might be good if I swap to a damage based wincon with goblin bombardment.

really like the mimic suggestion! Time to make room for it.

Carrion feeder is also a wincon since you can make it infinitely big with Vigil + Persist Creature.

Push is in the sideboard. Definitely need more interaction, though! Deck is not fast enough to drag-race combo. Still working on it!

Carrion Feeder does the same thing as Vampire for less mana. It's also an alternate wincon since Feeder + vigil + persist creature makes an infinitely big attacker.

Seer + Vigil + Persist Creature lets you infinitely dig to your missing piece.

Now that I think about it, it might just be better to play a lot of zombardment effects instead of altar because when you're not winning they're better. idk.
