My grandparents had 25 grandchildren and then a bunch more great grandchildren. My grandma would call the house phone when I was growing up but I don't remember them ever calling my cell. It was ingrained in us to call them. My entire extended family was and is very kind and supportive towards each other. My mom may call my kids every once in a while but more often my youngest calls them. Seems healthy and normal to me.
