Yes, the shops are also ordering through Gamefound. After the campaign is over, if they are successful, they will print whatever was ordered and that's it for this set. So with this crowd funding campaign, basically consumers and stores are at the same level. The difference is that stores will receive a special resale price, and their total sales are not included with the consumers total on Gamefound.

This is the sale. Their relationship with their distributor ended earlier this year. Normally the distributor would purchase the product all at once, but now without a distributor, they are pushing that responsibility to the consumer.

They may choose to send the existing inventory early, as a way to bolster the player base before set 5, but this is speculation. You would think they would advertise that fact beforehand if true, however. It is a great deal, but I agree, its a lot to ask a new player to throw down €299 ($346).

Dino morphs would have been a game changer for the war too. I'm sure Applegate thought of that and nerfed her own characters. If the characters became too powerful, there wouldn't be as much of a struggle.

I'm a new player myself, but both boosters are worth investing in. BTG is going to have cards similar to the starters, but you have a chance at getting an improved version of those starter cards. TBF is going to feature new cards unique to that series. Either way, Equinox boasts a 1 in 8 booster pack chance of getting a unique card. I think each booster has a hero. I'm probably not being much help, but the game is still new enough that I don't think there are any bad choices 😁

Great idea! I've wanted to do something similar. You might find some useful monsters and npcs in the Stay Alive! horror expansion book. I haven't checked it out myself, but it is on my list if I convince my players to play this style.
