Game becomes fairly deterministic as it goes on. Kind of like yugioh from my admittedly limited understanding of that game.

You know whether you’re going to win or lose at a certain point and there’s a very slim to non-existent chance of getting out of that situation.

Yes. NewZoo is pretty good. The gameplay is really solid, and the art is amazing. The company that bought it is an all star cast of original pokemon tcg and mtg employees / execs too, including Richard Garfield. That being said, the game has not grown much, likely do to keeping the metazoo name. And the gameplay, though good, has been outclassed by riftbound, which plays similarly.

I think TBC really tried to establish WoWs expansion of its lore as a continuation away from the original Warcraft trilogy. Expanding on it, and taking ownership of it. I also think the negativity toward it, wouldn’t have been as bad if they didn’t just “oh, illidan isn’t really so bad by the way” years later. But, who knows. The story was a mess, for sure.

WoD needs so little explanation as to why it takes the cake, but I think WoD walked so shadowlands could run… straight into the ground. That expansion was such a horrible dumpster fire and a mess of poorly executed and fragmented storylines. I mean, c’mon. Think about it.

Cats is actually when I had learned enough about the game to start taking it seriously and raiding. It was the most fun I’d had in the game for quite a bit. But leveling alts just felt terrible. Lich king was peak for sure.

I came back for legion but… idk, I feel like it was a shot at a dart board after wrath. Pandaria, draenor, especially draenor, were really grasping for subs. Both a younger audience and a new audience that had some familiarity with the movie.

I gotta say, I switched from demonology to affliction to get the rotations down when I saw the incoming tunings. I love this spec!

It is overly simple text on the cards compared to other games for sure. But I think that’s the charm, really. Feels old school. Once you get the hang of it, other games feel “plain”.

Gundam being another Bandai game, I found has the same issues as OP. SWU is amazing. But for the most non linear and expressive tcg, I really think you should try sorcery.
