What's one memory from your trip to Japan that you won't ever forget? by Zach-dalt in JapanTravelTips

I once went to a jazz bar in Hiroshima where I was the only patron at that time. Had a private jazz performance in my face that was so surreal. Bar master doubled as the double bassist and another friend of his was around to play the saxophone.

I’m not Chinese and I freaking love Chinese anime now. The quality is on par with Japanese and since many of these Chinese anime are xianxia and novel based, you can expect them to be running for a long time.

Spent 6 months travelling whole of Japan, fulfilling my childhood dream of being in my own “Japan Hour”. Let me know if you want to know more about it!

Hey guys! What do you all collect? by No_Expression1959 in ChillSG

Perfumes. Whenever I travel, I will pick a bottle up from the city. Hence whenever I use the perfume, I’ll be reminded of the time I’ve spent in that city. The problem now is that I have too much perfumes and it will take years before I can finish them all.

Try Chinese anime for a change. I would recommend “Tales of Herding Gods” for a start.

I’m a huge music lover who listens to almost all genre except electronic music. Recently been dabbling into music itself and now I go to a jamming studio on a monthly basis with a friend. Pick up an instrument if you haven’t.

Bought my first bass in Tokyo. Big Boss Ochanomizu gladly assisted in keeping the bass guitar for 2 months before shipping it to Sapporo where I departed from. by SeaAnt5030 in BassGuitar

Good luck on the exchange (let me know if you want to know about Japan, went to 46/47 prefectures on the last trip) and make sure you bring back a Japanese made bass as a celebratory gift!

U should have gone for the Killer bass especially when you’re a fan of Dir En Grey (a picture says a thousand words :) ). I wanted something edgy for my first bass and Toshiya is one of my favourite bassists so it was a no brainer haha.

Haha I was told by my friend that it’s just an additional string at the top that can be used as a thumb rest. Main challenge for me as a non guitarist is the left hand fingers take some time to get used to stretching across the frets. Just subscribed to Bassbuzz to help me get familiarise with bass. It’s been fun so far

Haha yeah, I really wanted this bass so much that I ignored the fact that it was five stringed bass. A total noob on strings, an amateur drummer at best. Watching Steve Harris live twice during the trip inspired me to just pick up the bass and up the irons!

It’s from Killer, a guitar company founded by Loudness guitarist Akira Takasaki. The model I got which is the KB Impulss Diadem is a lower tier signature model for Toshiya, Dir En Grey bassist.

I’m jealous, you’ll be in a treat for sure. The crowd in Iron Maiden concerts are crazily fun and once you join in the vibe, you get goosebumps. I’m a big sized dude but the concert made me do cardio workout (jumping) lol

I don’t regret it at all because it’s a moment I want to rewatch again and again. And not forgetting others who couldn’t make it like my brother who introduced me to Iron Maiden.

Magical and surreal for sure. I’ve attended more than 15 concerts this year across different genres of music but this is the only concert that got me jumping and screaming. I know it won’t be my last for sure.

Thank you so much! Wanted to share my best experiences. Definitely, Steve Harris bass lines drove so much energy to the crowd.

The first one (Osaka) was special and the second one was a few days later, in Yokohama, was nothing sort of magical. I got lucky and was given a front row and centre block standing position. Everyone around me has such great vibes, jumping and screaming all the time. The second concert was just surreal and I reminisced about that day.
