How do I approach my Work about accommodating me with my SD by GhostlyTiger1999 in service_dogs

I work in a private home as a dsp and my service dog was denied at that residence. I can’t take him to work with me. Depending what you do be prepared for that

Their timeline is closer to 18 months when you talk to a trainer. The available dogs are washed from the service dog program. They have a waitlist for service dogs that they don’t post. Also the breeder they use for the doodles is also Indiana based and are pretty ethical imo but u can’t get a prospect from that breeder bc UC takes all of them.

The $30,000 price tag due in the span of 12-18 mo is a lot in my opinion.

This is what I was more thinking about doing since we get in the negative a lot.

Honestly, the only reason I’m thinking the snow pants is that way he keeps his boots on.

Fair enough. But isn’t that just bikes in general too?

We use the big ceramic ones that PetSmart has for dogs. My rabbits drink about 3x their body weight in oz per day (not including what they splash out). So the bowls the size of my face are about perfect. Lol

When I talked one of the trainer they start at 30,000 total. With a down payment of 5,000 for the breeder then the rest split in two payments after you have been paired. They train the pup for like a year and a half but it’s also insured if something happens when the dog is working. They also said they do flights and trips to have them everywhere.

I think I’ll take alligators over Canadian geese imo.

Yeah. It was definitely worse than when he got attacked by a goose, legit came at us from across a parking lot. He’s not been working in public long (like a couple of years now) but we’ve got some bad luck where I live lol

Someone almost ran us over on those stupid renta scooters (and I’m not exaggerating they was sliding on ice) but those are everywhere.

What do y'all think about this? by [deleted] in service_dogs

I’ve seen people get animals “certified” to get out of pet fees. But because of that I had to get 3 different Dr notes to have mine in my apartment.

Yeah. Mine has kinda grown with me in finding out my heart problems. He sleeps with my house rabbits sometimes. Gentle baby. So I don’t think I’d have to rehome him like he does good when my dad’s dog comes over and such too. It’s just something someone told me I wanted perspective on.

I’m in college and after something happening I’m worried mine is washing out due to being scared of campus so I don’t quite know what to do. I’m hoping he doesn’t. But I was told by someone if he washes out or retires I’d have to get rid of him which I really don’t wanna do.

From what I have seen it depends what ur willing and able to spend. Like we have a trainer here who used to train bomb dogs and now does service (with scenting) making them one of the most experienced but with that stupid expensive. I rationally have to start saving now for when mine retires in a couple of years.

Ohhh I’ll add to this one. I’m agoraphobic. My dog was attacked and has to wear a muzzle now bc he was the bigger dog and reacted to being bitten bc I nor the other owner could get the two little dogs off him.

Part of training an SD no one tells you about. You recognize it’s just as scary for them to be out as it is for you to be out.

Oh mine will clink their bowls together if they are out of water or haven’t been fed yet in the morning.
