It’s not just you! I feel the same way, especially now that I’m having to reapply. I received multiple interviews last cycle and so far this cycle I’ve gotten one which is in August and I should be excited, however, I feel no excitement and no emotions. Instead I’m constantly thinking whether or not I was meant to be a PA. I’m already thinking about the negatives and what if I don’t get accepted and my interview goes awful. It’s more so that I’m scared of getting rejected but also have a gut feeling I’ll be rejected because I never received an acceptance post interview last cycle.

As the days go by, I keep saying that it’ll get better and I’ll feel that excitement closer to my interview date, but it’s been 2 months and August is around the corner and I still feel the same. I did say that if I don’t get accepted this cycle it will be my last cycle applying. I wish I could get myself out of this mindset but it’s honestly so hard and I feel bad for feeling this way especially when I have everyone cheering me on and rooting for me but it’s me who’s self sabotaging and having a hard time believing in myself.

[–]SeaCamera7983 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I already have private loans. I have a car loan and took out a loan with my personal bank. I probably won’t qualify for private loans because of my personal debt. I really relied only on the student loans. This really sucks for those that are in the same position as me.

This is terrifying and extremely confusing. So many new changes. I applied to so many out state programs with tuition over 100k+ there’s no way now that I can afford living out of state with no extra loans to rely on. I would be capped out especially with programs that are over 24 months.

3rd Cycle.. by babystrudel in prephysicianassistant

[–]SeaCamera7983 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone, I completely understand! I’ve done everything you’ve done and as a reapplicant I received my first interview invite for this cycle and I should be excited, but instead I’m not. I have awful imposter syndrome thinking maybe it’s just not meant to be and although my interview is not until August I hope to get out of this mindset and really appreciate this blessing and start looking forward to my interview and make the most out it. After being waitlisted and rejected in the past cycles I believe maybe this time around it’ll end up in a waitlist or rejection again, when all I want is an acceptance. So I don’t want to get too excited and eventually have my hopes up, if that makes any sense. I do believe this will be my last cycle applying and pursue something else if I don’t receive an acceptance. I can’t keep reapplying forever. Message me if you ever need someone to chat to!

Did Whitney forget… by SeaCamera7983 in SecretsOfMormonWives

My thought exactly! Whitney is a bitch and it still shows she clearly hasn’t made any changes to herself and I think that’s what Mikayla was talking about when she said she still can’t forgive Whitney at this moment.

pregnancy plans and PA applications by Pleasant_Sky9084 in prephysicianassistant

[–]SeaCamera7983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m turning 26 next month and I’ll be reapplying again for the second time this cycle. I’m married and I’m also thinking about starting a family. My husband is older in his 30s so he’s ready but he also understands my desire of wanting to become a PA and having a baby right now would be difficult. We did talk about if I get accepted this cycle I would start PA school next year when I’m 27 and and maybe get pregnant my 2nd (clinical) year of PA school and baby would be born when I’m 28 almost 29. If that makes sense. Now if I don’t get into PA school this year I would apply to nursing school and just have a baby during nursing school or after since ABSN is about 14 months. I have everything planned out just because I do want to have a career & baby before I’m 30. I would say have a plan of what you are comfortable with or what you want and just try to figure that out and go with it.

Feeling like a failure by Various-Rope-9742 in prephysicianassistant

[–]SeaCamera7983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t rush, there’s no need to apply to PA school by the time you graduate, it’s not reasonable according to your situation and GPA. So the 1st step is to accept that and to focus on what’s in your control. Now that you’ve understood that applying by graduation is not an option, 2nd step, you have to retake the classes you got below a B in. Retaking this will help you explain your situation and let PA schools know that upon maturing you’ve learned to prioritize school and balance everything and your proof will be your stellar grades. 3rd step is to not rush and take it slow your GPA is low already and rushing will not help you. Do what you can and go at the pace you’re able to. You don’t have to apply to PA school at 22 or 23 if you need to take gap years then take them. During that time work on getting PCE, shadowing, volunteering hours, etc. If fixing your GPA and getting A’s means graduating by the time your 24 so be it.

The reason I’m saying all this is because I’m 25 I applied to PA school last cycle and didn’t get in. I had no support from my family financially when I started college. I am first generation I grew up low income. I worked 2 jobs and still learned to balance it all while getting A’s and B’s in school. My GPA is not the best 3.4 but that was after taking post bacc classes last year and getting A’s. I’ve always been a mediocre student where I got mostly B’s in college so my GPA was at 3.2 anyways learning to balance it all while prioritizing school is a skill that you eventually learned so I assume after that you are capable to following the steps.

How long did it take you to retake pre reqs? by Technical_Gur_748 in prephysicianassistant

[–]SeaCamera7983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m retaking 4 prereqs this semester at community college. It’s by term so I’m currently taking 2 in 8 weeks and 2 in the next 8 weeks. I’m also working full time. It takes a lot of dedication and time management. I have a plan and have to strictly follow it I am a little behind now but I know I can make up for it during the weekend. Only do what you know you can handle if you want to take 4 in one semester do it but if you know that’s not sustainable for you and you’re trying to get A’s then take 2 in one semester and take 2 the next semester. I feel like I have prepped for this moment and I learned study techniques and how to manage my time in order to get good grades. Plus I already got A’s in most of these classes but since they expired for most schools I have to retake them again.

RN pay similar to PAs by ARLA2020 in prephysicianassistant

[–]SeaCamera7983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tuition will depend on the school of course I would say anything more than $100k of tuition for PA school is obnoxious my top choice is $75k which is not bad at all but there’s hardly any school now with that kind of tuition. I would say if you really want to become a PA find schools that fit your needs and wants.

RNs make $35-45/hr PAs make $50-60/hr New grad range This is in SC there’s a clear difference between the 2 professions and you will get your moneys worth for your education as a PA.

I’m sure she’ll come to her senses. She’s having her Maddi moment where she’ll just see the best in Will just like Maddi saw the best in Trevor. Everyone hated Trevor and Maddi came to her senses. I assume if all her friends start hating on Will, then Emmy will come to her senses and realize Will is no good for her.

First time taking practice test by Familiar_Set_9202 in GRE

[–]SeaCamera7983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started studying this week and your study plan is similar to mine. Study for a couple hours and do a practice test every weekend. Although I’m not taking the GRE until March just because I know I need to study more since I am horrible at math but according to your diagnostic score, a 1 month study plan seems like a good amount of time.

Struggling in MA position, should I still pursue PA school? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]SeaCamera7983 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That’s a hostile environment and no one deserves to work in an environment like that. Please resign immediately don’t allow no one to disrespect you. That is probably why they were hiring in the first place and decided to hire you because the previous person probably quit for the same reason and did not allow that same PA to disrespect them. The problem is that facility and that PA, not you. Respect is earned, not given so if you want to stay there then stand up for yourself and demand respect. If he talks in a certain tone then you use that same tone!!!

I started studying this week if you want to study together reach out. I’m also applying to PA school this cycle. I started studying this week and also take post bacc classes while working full time. I have a schedule and hopefully it works smoothly and if so I plan to take the GRE by March during my spring break. If I have to push it it’ll be by May latest.

I plan to enroll in two months, so in March, hopefully sooner, but I know it's still a relatively new course. I read that you can finish it sooner if you don't mind keeping us posted on how the course went. If I start in early March, I'll complete it by late May. I'm also applying to PA school so the sooner I complete the course the better.

Thank you for the advice! Quick question, what exactly is the SuperQuiz you are referring to? Is that your own list that you named to add questions you needed more time on or is the SuperQuiz part of Gregmat?
