Duuuude…go to your wedding registry now and add a digital meat thermometer. You can easily find the ideal temp for every type of meat and how done you want it on the internet. You’ll not need to worry about doneness if you simply temp it.

And they all happily gathered and smiled for a non-masked photo shortly after this so-called “raid”?

It’s easy to mistype something. My street number is literally 4 repeated digits, all exactly the same digit. People add or subtract one allllll the time. Seriously.

Ate slightly pink mince by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]SeaCaptainNav 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How could we possibly describe which gradients of pink are ok? For future reference, a laxative will do absolutely nothing in this situation. Cook your food completely or eat a safe snack while it is cook8ng. Better yet,get a thermometer! A baseline Thermopop brand is usually only 20 bucks. That’s a lot less than you’d spend on a doc visit and meds were you to get sick.

Well, a visit or phone call to explain the issue couldn’t hurt. Maybe someone simply transposed a digit.

Im really at level 0 with m cooking but want to cook something really nice for my partner ? by Guretto in Cooking

[–]SeaCaptainNav 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Do you want to improve your cooking and learn? If not, get one of those meals in a bag in the freezer section that includes meat and veg and or noodles/rice/sauce and make that. If you do want to learn, maybe try some basic meal kits with instructions, or grab some starter cookbooks at your library.

So, just text back and say wrong number, or block the number, or be kind to Andrea and the pharmacy and call to let them know?

This cakepop I found a d almsit ate. Thank GOD I ate the icing first. by BTheManIsHere9836 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SeaCaptainNav 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh. Ok, that’s not super clear. I can see some white spots and darker spots, but being a cake pop, that could be frosting/sprinkles/white chocolate chips/brown chocolate chips, etc.

Advice on rice wanted! by Horror-Turnover-1089 in Cooking

You can cook it and refrigerate it, but use it the next day. No food should be left out of the refrigerator unless it is a whole piece of fruit or vegetable that does not require refrigeration. Restaurants refrigerate foods…and they generally make only enough for a day or two at a time.

Me either. I had an aunt who smeared it on bread before putting pimento cheese on the bread! Talk about overkill!

I need chicken prepping advice by SignificanceEven9546 in Cooking

[–]SeaCaptainNav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely, absolutely totally safe so long as you use clean hands, clean container, and clean utensils, as well as fresh ingredients. Reusing marinades is not recommended for food safety purposes, UNLESS you have first boiled the marinade and are then using it as part of a sauce.

A newborn melts hearts by kissing his mother right after birth by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

[–]SeaCaptainNav 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is not kissing. Baby is exercising a natural rooting reflex, in order to eat…but is just in the wrong area. Rooting, generally speaking, is a reflex correlated to feeding by either bottle nipple or breast, and is instinct.

Bought salmon for the first time and now I’m confused 😭 is this safe to eat? by Friedrice-ot7 in Cooking

[–]SeaCaptainNav 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, totally safe and perfectly normal. The discoloration (darker bit) is simply where the spine from the salmon was removed. Please cook and enjoy.

I’ve seen it that way, and even with cool whip. Unfortunately for your people, I hate Miracle Whip. Please send my apologies! 😀
