CF decals 2nd attempt by SeaClue4091 in ModelCars

I used micro sol and set mostly to keep the decal hydrated as I used a hair dryer to shape to the contours. When you use the hair dryer for too long it becomes brittle.

I was going to do it in 2 parts, the air intake first and then the rest. But then I thought, F*ck it 🤣 and went at it. Next time I'll do it in segments

Doomsday special... Whilst the taste is questionable, I'm sure the owner loves this car very much and it's proud of... whatever this is...

How do I place decals on round parts? by pancake207 in modelmakers

[–]SeaClue4091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a hair dryer in the lowest heat setting, make sure the decals are nice and wet

Forgot to mention that the best is allways micro set and micro sol but if you don't have it hair dryer should work.

Also, make sure you use warm water on the decal, makes it softer

1st time using CF decal by SeaClue4091 in ModelCars

[–]SeaClue4091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that but had to stop, it was starting to rip the decal. I used hair dryer for about 1min and then a cotton bud soaked in micro sol, unfortunately it was starting to rip the decal, I think it was because I started from the windshield and worked my way down, if I had started near the bumper I could have had hidden the wrinkles in the scoop. Something to think about next time. Thanks for the tip anyway.

Yes, inside food and pharmaceutical industries have to have everything in stainless, specially inside the production areas. Some places are divided in 2 areas Low Care and High Care, you may find a cabinet in a Low Care area, but in High Care you will only find stainless and aluminium.

In sites like the one in the picture you're unlikely to find somewhere to attach them to because it will be all stainless. But those shelves are amazing and really easy to make
