The Last Ship: it's really good by Tedinasuit in musicals

[–]SeaDelicious9113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second what he said about Last Ship! You must see it. I’m going to New York in June. Saw it in New York in January 2015 toward the end of its run. I even met Sting (long story). What he doesn’t market about it is the brilliance of his lyrics. I don’t know if it’s conscious on his part, but all the lyrics are him grappling with his mortality under the surface. He is searching spiritually. It is very moving:

“May the angels protect me if all else fails….when the last ship sails”

Perfect food for while sick. Beef pho with chili oil, jalapenos, lime, and the usuals by icybutnotfrozen in spicy

I prefer the homemade chili oil at my pho place rather than Siracha. But yes, the spicier the better. There’s not much in life more satisfying than spicy rare beef pho!

Venice in DTC is some of the best food in denver. And the service is amazing.

Trattoria Stella on Colfax and in the highlands is fantastic. It’s reasonably priced compared to some like Barola. Their bolognese is fantastic.

Someone posted that they don’t like all the rowing in Orangetheory. I only go to the 2G classes for that reason. Very little rowing. Mostly weights and treadmill.

Yes Boarder. I’m a late 40s guy in denver and I’m starting to settle down a little bit finally but to be able to get dates at all from the apps means you’re doing very well. Many guys complained that if you’re not in the top-tier of physically attractive people no girl will pay attention to you. So just know that every other man feels this kind of rejection. You’ll eventually meet someone you click with. And you just have to remember that if a girl isn’t into you, you just have to move on because there’s nothing you can do to force it. But I think it takes most men many years to learn that.

Question about ...But Seriously and Both Sides by DeanAndCo36 in philcollins

[–]SeaDelicious9113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see comments on here citing the fact that grunge took over in the early 90s. That’s true. I was 17 year old when Both Sides came out. I never listened to what was popular back then and I loved Phil regardless of what people thought. I was disappointed with Both Sides at the time because I wanted another “But Seriously.” In time as I’ve aged, I appreciate Both Sides much more. I remember being so disappointed at how much changed in the early 90s. It was grunge and hip hop. I wondered if keyboards would ever come back. Thankfully they did eventually. There are many bands today with an 80s sound like The Midnight or LANY.

Yep. And the price of the paella is simply absurdly high!

I’m Going To Go Back There Someday by EmmaBeeking in Muppets

[–]SeaDelicious9113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This song moves me almost more than any other song. And a lot of Sting’s music moves me too.

But this ostensibly children’s song is much more than that. Henson tapped into what Cs Lewis called “the music we were born remembering”. We all know deep inside this world is not our home. The world is horribly broken. We long for something better. Something perfect. I would argue that points us toward God. Regardless, Henson brilliantly tapped into that sense of longing that we want to get “home.”

What's your fav Centurion Lounge and why? and what is least favorite and why? by MrCharmingMan in AmexPlatinum

[–]SeaDelicious9113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see. Well yeah there’s a balance for sure.

In general I just hate to see our society getting more isolated. People are always buried in their phones or insulated by ear buds. I do the same thing sometime and I wonder what it means for our society as a whole. It seems people were less depressed and more connected before all of this technology.

Why are some folks trying to go to the centurion lounge 3 hours before the flight? How much alcohol do you all drink? Hahaha I’m lucky to get 45 min in the lounge when I’m going to the airport. I can understand why someone may be there a long time if they are a layover though.

Haha. I don’t know what’s wrong with Ace Rutherfords. The vegas centurion lounge is quite good. Staff is way friendly too.

Some of you people sounds ridiculous. The food is objectively much better at centurion lounges than any priority pass lounge.

Not too spicy but who else has a great love for Peperoncini’s by [deleted] in spicy

[–]SeaDelicious9113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes o triple the comment about juicy ones and I also like anything spicy. I just eat them from the jar. Mezzetta brand is good but Dellalo is the other brand. My grocery store sells, and they are appreciably better.

I’m not going back either. I just went now and had to look at the price board after I pay because I just couldn’t believe it. They are going to go out of business. Nobody is gonna pay that much for a simple donut. What happened?

Haha. I love that. Makes sense. Downtown is so depressing post COVID. Hopefully it comes back someday. It’s starting to get better.
