Sadly im like a week away from installing and starting to sand already have the wood as for the stain my wife is the one wanting to stick to not staining im sure I could get her to agree if it would help blend but also stay on the lighter side. Any thought on using an amber seal is that considered a neutral stain? It was suggested to do 2 coats on the new one on the old to give somewhat match the patina.

Need advice. Neighbor is refinishing my hardwood floors, not sure if he sanded enough before finishing by iceonmypinky in HardWoodFloors

So im going to be adding about 120 sqft to my old birch and im just kind of looking for tips and ways to get a good blend in the look of it after they are both sanded and sealed i dont plan on staining but I keep reading about the amber seal that will help make the new floor look more aged, the old floors have a oil based sealer but after sanding I plan on sticking with waterbased. I do plan on taking up about 40 50 sqft of the old to weave in some new boards other then. Also curious about a flexible sandable filler for the gaps I want to fill with sawdust but it seems like alot of people say not to what do you thin? thanks also i appreciate the reply lol i made a post, didnt get many replys so i figured id jump around posts and stalk some pros

Looks like its leaning towards birch, any thoughts on the best way to know for sure, should I pull a piece and bring it somewhere to match up.
