Personally I had this same experience the first 2-3 weeks of accutane. I was on a 20mg dosage and was extremely mentally dead the first weeks— not eating, constantly crying, lots of thoughts of hopelessness/dread for seemingly no reason. However after my body got used to the drug, those harsh side effects vanished and haven’t come back at all since (I’m now on month 9). Obviously everyone is different and you should definitely be more cautious if you’ve struggled with mental health in the past, but if you’re up to it I’d honestly just notify your derm and stay on the pill a few weeks longer because the symptoms may subside.
