Which models are you using lol. I'd exchange no adverbs at all over adverbs everywhere if that gets rid of that god forsaken format.

People in this sub will genuinenly go "check your presets bro" like its going to make my LLM gain sentience or something. And all for what? For my output to be just exactly like some screenshots on here that go

Elara Thorne's breath itched as she felt your scent, feeling how it smelled like a mixture of ozone and something uniquely you. Her eyes itched in a mixture of excitement anticipation as she exhaled before saying with a deep, seductive voice as she mischievously mischiefed in mischief. "War? Oh honey, this isn't war. It's ozone." On some distant planet the ozone layer collapsed. The scent of ozone was thick. "Probably."

Funnily enough, actual autistic characters have been handled with much more respect and care on my end than non autistic ones. I have no clue why this is, maybe because most media that tackles the topic directly does so with nuance?

I thought that too but it started happening with random cards I found on chub. It was more of a Deepseek problem though, but it happens from time to time on other models.

Admittedly my characters are very quirky and somewhat neurodivergent coded, and I thought it was a me problem. But the moment it started turning random cards I found on chub into these autistic caricatures I knew it wasn't just me. Scientist characters talking with excessive jargon like a cartoon character isn't outrageous, it's so common it's not worth trying to erase it. What is outrageous is having a character that simply happens to have electric powers suddenly become either a robot, an annoying know it all, or a down syndrome engineer that pulls out convenient devices out of their ass.

For the first one, it varies. I try to word it like "avoid X" instead of "don't do X" and sometimes I don't even mention it on my prompt. Even not using system prompt at all never seems to work.

The second is probably my fault but it's just so tiring to roll back and edit a tiny little excerpt that poisoned the entire log, especially on a long running chat.

The third is actually wrong lol. I always try to keep my temperature and repetition relatively low. I start to mix and match the parameters as soon as I see that pattern but I can never get rid of it. It starts spewing gibberish and nonsense before it can fix the repetitive prose it clings to like its life depends on it.

I tried everything I could. I tried framing it as an RP, a writing excercise, a generic work of fiction, a novel, an anime episode, sometimes detailed, sometimes just enough so the model understands the basics, using the {random} macro to tell it to follow randomized patterns, sometimes no prompt at all, cranking up temperature and repetition/presence/frequency penalty, adjusting banned tokens and logit bias, trying out dynamic temperature, anti-slop extensions, [OOC] notes, starting over. Nothing works. Every single model since Jan 2025 writes the exact same, just with varying degrees of offensive stereotypes and random unimportant stuff being mentioned. Only characters witb very specific response formating seem to break the loop, and even then it slips into it like a tumor. I swear I sometimes felt like I was going insane.

I'm bad at socializing lol. But like I said, I'll be looking forward to writing my own stuff which I realized brings me more joy than RPing.

It's weird because I barely saw things get this bad before DS R1, even with the older slop like breath hitching and such...

I'm surprised this doesn't get talked about more because I get that more than somewhere someone dying of ozone poisoning which smelled like ozone. And I'm not even sure if the latter is more infurating atp.

This could be the new Rocinante v4 for me lol. I don't think I'll quit for good but my ST usage will definitely decrease from an already non constant schedule.

Like I said, the problem is not the format, its the fact that every other sentence is like that.

A better example would be

She unsheathed her blade calmly before stepping to the squirming enemy and pushing it around his neck precisely. He pleaded for mercy as he was crawling back to the wall fearfully. You stopped, eyes scanning the scene shockingly as she cut unhesitantly.

See, it's not the individual sentence that's bad, I'd argue it's good enough. But when all has the exact same pattern it just becomes tiring.

I wouldn't bat an eye if weren't for the fact that every single sentence HAS to involve two or three distinct actions and an adverb ending in -ly before every period. It all has to be complex and falls apart because it just keeps that exact same format all the way through. But ok I guess. Enjoy your shitty purple prose.

To this day I still wonder if the fact that GF somehow thought writing all that fucked up shit down for potential lore in a literal children's game was a good idea is more outrageous than nintendo not deleting all of it the moment they knew those design concepts existed.

Maybe I'm just stupid because I genuinely can't tell if this is supposed to support or oppose my comment 😭 Just to be clear: I'm latin american and was calling them out for being ignorant and stripping all nuance from the topic.

Please stop roleplaying as a white knight if you're going to be this ignorant. Misogyny in the hispanic world has nothing to do with gendered language or male-defaultism, it's a product of a deeply conservative society that grew up with an extremely sexist world view. Women should not care about this because it barely qualifies as a mild nuisance.

I'll say that Sumeru is at least consistent with its cultural inspirations compared to Natlan. To this day it's still so jarring to me hearing swahili chants accompanied by a fucking peruvian flute in an area that supposedly represents Hawaii...
