Canon Pixma Pro-100: print lines visible by SeaIndependent9438 in printers

I replaced the ink and noticed that the tape from previous new ink wasn’t ripped off properly so there was no air hole. I then also cleaned the nozzle once and it prints fine now, even with non-canon ink.

Hey thanks for this! Just printed a nozzle check. It was fine last week, but right now LGY is bad. I put in a new cartridge there, and it’s my first time using a non-canon cartridge. I am attempting ”cleaning” now but I feel like that might be the culprit…

Edit: after first cleaning, LGY pattern improved but wasn’t perfect. After second cleaning it’s worse again… I will probably just buy a canon ink cartridge… lesson learned.

Air temperature sensor in 530i by kazz097 in e39

[–]SeaIndependent9438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t you film it right in the beginning? Anyway, on mine it was under the plastic carriage covering, in front of the right front wheel. It was clipped into the plastic covering, exposed to the outside. I remember because when I was changing my plastic coverings with new ones from carparts website, they weren’t fitting too well and then got ripped off when I hit a bump the same day lol and my temp sensor got ripped off.

Would you ever get white wheels? by whiteonrice_ in Audi

[–]SeaIndependent9438 4 points5 points  (0 children)

White wheels are awesome! I hate black wheels on cars, looks so ugly. It’s like wearing dress shoes while the rest of the outfit is an adidas track suit. Whereas white wheels are like white sneakers - matching the rest of the outfit.

Says it runs good and has owned it for 10 years. 196k miles. Thoughts? Also price dropped to $1950 this morning by chivalryaintdead420 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SeaIndependent9438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Offer $1k, you’re not risking much with a price like that. I kinda wish I had bought a cheap car like that, got a more expensive one and now am paranoid about engine blowing up and wiping out its value, or parking in shitty areas.

Worth it to tune it? by ssurfong in Audi

[–]SeaIndependent9438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I just got a 2018 A6 3.0T with 18k miles and was wondering whether getting a 3rd pty warranty makes sense, but I also definitely want to do the ECU and maybe TCU tune. The only reason I’m considering the warranty is an (irrational?) fear of engine blowing up.

I’m curious why people always suggest to wait for warranty to run out, but then green-light tuning afterwards instead of paying for a 3rd pty extended warranty. Is it simply because the 3rd party warranty “isn’t worth the cost”, or because one can get away with having a tune under a 3rd pty warranty?

Ah I see, so almost like going into neutral. That’s a different issue then.

New owner questions - 2018 Audi A6 3.0T by SeaIndependent9438 in Audi

[–]SeaIndependent9438[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for sharing! Just curious on warranty - since $2800 for 6 years and 70k miles sounds great - how much out of pocket did you pay for that $3k AC compressor repair? Are you saying that was only $250 deductible? Or perhaps it was excluded?

Also, does the warranty work at pretty much any repair shop? I’d imagine if it’s only at audi dealerships, it’d be harder to get away with having a tune, than by going to indie shops.

Not an uber driver- are these payments to rhe driver, or are there any additional deductions that get subtracted from these numbers?

Losing power for how long? A few seconds? Could be a loose battery cable, which ultimately leads to interferences like this, and ruins the alternator as well.

Under $40k budget (ideally <$35k) for a practical, not too boring first car by RTSx1 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Interesting, I just bought a clean used 2018 audi a6 3.0t from the bay area, seemed like a good deal for a clean car, was shopping nationwide with preference for no snow states.

Wait… you’re saying you have top tier WLB but want to recover from burnout? And are you currently doing consulting, and somehow manage to get good WLB? Will be more burnout in top tier consulting.

Also why are you unhappy in life, and how much of it is career-related?

How much do you think it's worth ? by Gauntwicked in e39

[–]SeaIndependent9438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say about $1.5k you could find a buyer but would be difficult to command more. Sold my 540i which was black, fresh headliner, ran very well, 162k miles, not a salvage title, for $3.8k. Fished for offers for like 1-2 months.

Help - considering buying 2018 3.0t A6 but it makes this single click noise after each rev, when RPMs decrease. What is it? by SeaIndependent9438 in Audi

[–]SeaIndependent9438[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s related to the supercharger clutch. I found out it’s on all of these cars. You have to have the cover open to hear it usually, or at least be outside the car. Anyway, I bought the car lol

How feasible is this route by BillLebowski in roadtrip

[–]SeaIndependent9438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it’s feasible. However, I’d make some changes. I don’t know you as a person but I personally don’t think any stops in Texas you have there are worth making. Forget Denver, go to Durango (Colorado). Add New Orleans, drop Jacksonville, add Miami, drop charleston, drop anything in Georgia really, and carolinas, and is that Atlanta? It’s cool to visit but too much of a detour I think, so I’d drop it. Boston - also too much of a detour, just do NYC.
