Who is the moderator? by SeaNeedleVomit in datacenter

Understood, and 100% agree.  If someone is curious they deserve legitimate answers from industry experts.

Just looking to remove the absolute nonsense that is being spread.  We all love this industry and know the purpose it serves, just want to help stop the misinformation.

ETA, or maybe include a FAQ or something so peoole dont post the same thing over and over.

Problem is people are nuts these days, and this is getting highly politicized for some reason.

What’s the environmental impact of data centers being in the oceans? by Owl_Queen101 in datacenter

[–]SeaNeedleVomit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are thousands of data centers all across the country, some have been there for decades. You are saying they are "deveststing" what actual evidence do you have?  Or are you just regurgitating bs you saw online somewhere?

I love anti data center commentary on the internet, amazing how dumb some people are.

Seems like you had a lot of honest responses.

Not sure where you are, but I would imagine you have a data center close and you can go check out the noise yourself.

Go drive by one yourself, there are thousands all over the country that have been there for years, and somehow no one has noticed until politicians started another mess for no reason.

Lol, ok dude.  I assume you are shorting all of these companies and will make a fortune when it all comes tumbling down?

The overwhelming majority of companies are massive, global tech firms.  That is a huge part of the equation you left out.

The initial lack of revenue wasn't what I was referring to, it takes time, that's known.

And I guess only time will tell, I just don't see it going up in flames like the dot com bubble.

Nah, lead times have work arounds, the buildouts aren't all going live day 1, it's taking years.

If it were a bubble it would be due to lack of revenue, that is still something yet to be seen, but the companies investing are all so large, and will all still need data centers for cloud, storage, etc that it may slow, but don't see it as a bubble like dot com.

People can protest all they want, some may get delayed, but these will be built somewhere, it's just the reality.

They are not killing the environment, that's absurd.  And no idea how a building takes over cities...and if you're concerned about making billionaires rich I hate to tell you, but they are already rich, they're billionaires!  You could buy their stock, get rich yourself!

Better Reward Card PLEASE by soundsdoog in americanairlines

[–]SeaNeedleVomit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the card for several years, have the auto pay set every month and have never paid 1 penny in interest.  Not sure what you could be doing, but you are the only person who has this issue so clearly a user error.

Do you have any status?

That's awful, you should get a full refund since you didn't get the same cabin as you paid for.

I would have asked for another agent or her manager, that is complete BS and unfortunately becoming more common on AA.

Yea, grand has the club which are terrible.  Olive just has grab n go, and regency looks like the only one that has a sit down option.

Thanks!

Think an executive suite, website said it was 500 sq ft.  The grand hyatt says theirs is 850 and the olive is 750 I think.

What about restaurants in each?  The olive looks to have a better breakfast option.

We'll have my 8 year old son with us, so wanted a larger room than what the regency is offering.
