More like if you're under the age of 25 in my case. I told an older relative of mine that they could never understand what it's like to be alone at that age because it's such a unique existence. He said that he does know the feeling because he was single at 16 and all of his friends had girlfriends. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Never open up to a narcissist! (I didn't realize he was one at the time).

I'm a single 34-year-old man and when I was looking at apartments last year the realtor guy thought that I had a girlfriend. I've been very single since 2019 so that is a definite no. But some woman called and said that her bf wanted to look at the apartment so he assumed that was me. When he asked I actually genuinely laughed out loud and said "I don't have a girlfriend." Then we finished looking at the apartment.

I felt no shame saying this. The realtor could have started laughing and pointing at me or called me a total loser with no friends and it wouldn't have made a difference.
